Guest guest
For anyone with thyroid considerations I just want to suggest a book by Dr. Datis Kharrazian, Why Do I Still Have Thyroid Symptoms? When My Lab Tests are Normal He has a strong functional neurology background and his suggestion is to avoid iodine if you or anyone in your family have any history of auto immune - esp. Hashimoto's. It can trigger a genetic polymorphism when the predisposition is there. I had to learn that the hard way... Blessings Devin I [low dose naltrexone] i couldn't find this post only in the digest sent to me sleep Posted by: "uxordepp" jprocure@... uxordepp Thu Nov 18, 2010 11:43 am (PST) Hi Folks I finally got the results of the sleep lab I had done in June. In essence it tells me that my sleep problems are imaginary and that my fatigue is caused by my 'underlying condition or depression'. Fiddlesticks. Since the lab I have started 5htp and ldn and have been feeling somewhat better and sleeping somewhat better. The doc talked to me fairly seriously about the possibility of adrenal issues and I am to have a test done on Sunday. I can't remember exactly what he called it, but they take a baseline blood test in the morning and then inject an artificial something. There are further blood tests taken at 30 minutes and 60 minutes. Does that sound at all familiar to anyone? He also said that 'on paper' my thyroid looked fine. In fact, my TSH went from 'high-normal' to 'mid-normal' between December of '09 and July of '10. T3 and T4 were also both normal. He did not dismiss the possibility of there being a problem though. And he didn't blanche when I told him I was starting an iodine protocol. Jaye Hi Jaye, I would recommend this book for everyone. Dr Brownstein does a good job explaining much about the thyroid. He says that most blood tests are not accurate and usually a clinical analysis is also needed. I, of course, don't remember what I read, but it made sense. There is also an iodine group on . If you are wealthy and live near West Bloomfield, MI you might make an appointment to see him. Jay
