Guest guest
Joyce; Be sure that the MRI is done in three dimension as a standard MRI will show nothing but blurbs and motion. I know from experience.
Guest guest
Hello all, It has been strongly suggested by two M.D. friends that I should have an MRI because my heart seems to be compromised. I am hypo with strong hyper leanings, I guess. Any suggestions/insights from the group regarding MRI? Guest guest
Its where the lumbar vertebra slips around on top of the vertebra below it. It can be treated by PT(which we already know i can't do) or spinal fusion. Re: MRI what the heck is that????

Guest guest
Yeah Ive been reading up on it. Glad now Ive decided on a neuro because now with this Spondylolisthesis going on,surgery gets a little more delicate and difficult. And crap....from the readings it says sometimes you end up in a body cast or a brace for months after it. Had my MRI sent to the Neuro Surgeon today, after he looks at it THEN they call you to set up an appt. Did ya'll go thru it that way too? Guest guest
, Yes in constant pain for the past few weeks, guess thats why they did another MRI. I know after i went to 3 PT's and was in severe pain something was up. Oh wow,the meds they have me on aren't really doing much. Lortabs/and alternating with Vicodin,Soma's,Celebrex and Xanax. Valium if i need it. Well just have to wait til i see the neuro...so don't know what they will have planned for me. Thank god Im on the xanax or valium otherwise i think i'd be wigging out over all of this. i do find ice packs and laying down are of alot of relief.but that is kinda hard for me to do with work and all....ah,but life goes on. :-) Re: MRI OUCH!!!!! I do too with mine, but after talking with the family and listening to the group,my family thought I should go to a neuro,my GP did too. So you know the pain then? Do you have the radiating pain in your legs at all? Are you taking pain meds and if so do they help and what is it???? Im not finding a whole lot of relief. Im up for any suggestions . Where are you located Sue and where are you having the surgery done? I wish you the best of luck and will keep you in my prayers for a successful surgery.... Guest guest
-, I do not have any of the radiating pain, it is all in my back.. I do get some pain in my upper spine and neck but I think alot of that is from the muscles trying to protect that lower back.. I try to stay off the pain meds my back hurts 24/7.. but as long as I do nothing..and I do mean nothing..it does not go into the bad pain. If I mow the yard it is a pain pill breakfast.. pain pill lunch.. and pain pill dinner..LOL!!I take hydrocodone when I really need them.. And I am a bad girl.. drug stasher.. I have some demoral from a surgery I had 2 years ago that I take in emergencies.. What Has really helped me alot in the water.. I joined a gym with a pool and I try to go everyday.. I do water aerobics( no impact) and resistance training and sometimes just float in that warm water.. it is about the only time my back feels normal. I live North of Atlanta and Will be having the surgery at the local hospital Northside. I can't wait.. I am so tired of living the way I have.. Thanks for your thoughts..
