Hi Todd,

I have been on Mepron and Zithromax for many months. When I first started in

Feb. 2005, my Dr. prescribed the usual dose (1 tsp. mepron 2x's a day and 1/2

tab zitromax 2x's a day). I herxed terribly. No one warned me. I had no idea

what to expect. After 3 days I was sweating, in intense pain from head to toe,

panick attacks, dizziness, fever, hallucinations and total fatigue. I called my

doctor and he said just cut the dose in half and I will see you next visit (1

month). I wasn't very happy with his lack of compassion so I stopped it

completely and started to do some research. That is when I found this site and

others I frequent.

I eventually found a different doctor and started the meds again. This time I

started at half doses and slowly worked my way to the full dose. Everyone is

different, but that seems to work for me. My doctor said " if you are herxing,

then you are killing them " . I believe that I was so loaded with spiroketes that

the die off was just too much. I had to take it slow.

I am just one case. She may not have any symptoms worse than what she had from

her past meds. Hopefully your wife will not have to cut back and she will win

the battle quicker.

Best wishes,

Suzy

My wife has just been taken off the lyme drugs and put on Mepron and

zithromax for 3 weeks. Can anyone tell me what the expected herx

syptoms are? Anything to watch out for?
