? re lyme myositis (muscle damage)

hi,

My MD told me that myositis is a very rare effect of Lyme, and I am

having a hard time finding info.

Wonder if anyone on here has had this, or knows about it?

My MD discovered it by doing a CPK test, but nobody has been able to

tell me if I should expect a full recovery. The damage is in my left

leg (lower). I asked him if there was anything which could reveal

more info - like x-ray, MRI, etc - but he said no.

All he said was try to stay off it. ha. Hard to stay off your leg if

you live alone and have no one to wait on you!

When I can I rest and keep it up as he also told me.

I've had the pain about 6 weeks. I definitely have some improvement,

but it is very slow and not constant, ie. one day have no pain, and

the next day pain.

However, I can now walk without a cane.

Frustrating because I feel so in the dark.

My MD told me to have another test (I guess another CPK) 2 weeks

after I stop the antibiotic, which will be in about 2 1/2 weeks.

Appreciate any info.
