Guest guest
Hi, , I am also just on doxy. I have probably had Lyme since 1988. It's been flaring up since 2002 following a surgery, and was only diagnosed a couple months ago. I have had really, really good results with just doxy. Are you on 400 mg? If you are on less than 300 mg the CNS penetration is supposedly not good enough. I'm only about 100 lbs, and 200 mg actually improved my CNS symptoms quite a bit. My LLMD increased it to 400 mg about a week ago in an effort to really target the CNS. Just for comparison, I had anxiety, insomnia, night sweats, teeth grinding, loss of balance (vertigo), stabbing pains in my head and scalp, and a tendency to get lost everywhere, all the time. I could not easily read more than a sentence or two, could not for the life of me make change at the check-out, and I had inflammation of both eyes, noises in my ears, and really nasty musculoskeletal pain, especially in my neck, low back and hands. My short-term memory was pretty well non-existant. On just doxy, the pain is gone. I am sleeping much better and rarely sweating. My balance is improving. I've stopped dropping things. I can read entire articles without zoning out. The inflammation in my eyes is gone, and the noises in my ears have lessened. Yesterday, I paid for groceries with exact change. Over all, I feel pretty good. I like doxy. Give it a chance. highlandave98 <seanmiller1@...> wrote: Is it possible to see strong results from just using Doxycycline if you have had lYme for years and all the symptoms are CNS depression, anxiety etc? Guest guest
Our LLmd started us with Doxy also. For me I worked my way up to the recommended amout. I had some lower right back discomfort " heaviness " - I'd had this off and on for years- I think I was getting rid of stuff. After being on the Doxy I didn't have my arms/hands or legs go to sleep easily, altho this has returned some, but not as much. I tolerated the Doxy very well. I couldn't see a pattern persea, but then I think I was killing off yeast at the same time and probably also getting rid of other toxins too. Make sure you are taking something for yeast, drink at least a gallon of good water a day. Also probiotics are a very good thing. Take care Rose Marie > > Is it possible to see strong results from just using Doxycycline if > you have had lYme for years and all the symptoms are CNS depression, > anxiety etc? How much doxy are you taking each day? You should be on at least 4-600mg a day. You may need to be on it a long time. Don't stop too soon. Give it a good 8 months to a year, even if you start feeling better, don't stop! And make sure to talk to your LMD about co-infection tests.
