What is the point Martha, are you against alternatives like the QUackwatch

gang??? These articles written against companies who produce supplements are

a joke. I have several articles that expose Mr Barret for what he really is,

but won't waste space here. Have you read the statistics on death related to

drugs these days, I could post that if you want.

So Sunrider's on Quackwatch. When someone is trying to help sick

people, it's mean and wrong to try to discredit them. My family and I who

struggled with third stage neuro Lyme from

1989-1995, with multiple intravenous antibiotic treatments not to mention the

many oral regimens of Zithromax when it wasn't even legal and my friend was

getting it smuggled in from this doctor in Russia and for what? To just get

sicker

and sicker. My children were on home instruction on and off from elementary

school all through middle school and only started to improve when we gradually

dumped the medical profession and started on the Sunrider regimen. We are

healthy now since 1995, and Dr. Chen, Sunrider's master herbalist, is

responsible. I'd like to put the drug companies that are lined up outside of my

doctor's office on Quackwatch. They and the doctors are only interested in the

profit and not the well-being of the patient. They don't care about what side

effects the drug of the month may cause. Dr. Chen is also the first herbalist

to

identify Stevia extract as a safe sweetener, but the sugar lobby got real

nervous because Stevia is a healthy and nutritionally beneficial alternative to

sugar, and they banned him marketing it as a sweetener in the 1989's. He got

smart and marketed it for a couple of years as a facial mask, and believe me it

is great as a facial mask. Now he's allowed to market it as an herbal

supplement with a sweet taste. It nourishes the spleen and the pancreas.

Because of

Dr. Chen, all of the healthfood stores carry Stevia as a healthy sweetener.

All the gossip on Quackwatch about Dr. Chen is documented in his

autobiography, " Journey to the Sun. " His dream was to bring good nutrition and

health to

the world, and he has accomplished just that. We feel great and Lyme is out

of our lives for good. I only come on this list from time to time to try to

help others.

Hi Sue,

You should feel good about the Quackwatch thing, they only go after

companies who are making a difference, just like Mannatech. They have to try

and fight now because they will lose in the end. People are tired of drugs

and staying sick, the wellness industry is just getting started!! I am glad

I never had anyone try and steer me away from the products that brought me

back my life, I might have actually listened. Be Well,

You make a good point about feeling good that Sunrider is on Quackwatch .

The medical profession is getting very nervous because people are really

catching on to the wellness approach to health. We are both extremely fortunate

that

we were guided in this way. I hope and pray that those on this list will

catch on as well and end their sick cycle. I often think about the life I would

have had over the past 10 years if I wasn't pushed in this direction and where

my grown children would be also. My husband and I are finally empty nesters

and enjoying it. The only good thing about having had Lyme is you appreciate

good health so much more, and you and I want others to experience their own

success doing the same.

Take care,

Sue

I appreciated the post. There's no such thing as a guaranteed cure

and every treatment -- drug, supplement, massages -- has a drawback.

It's important to me to learn whether a company markets its products

via multilevel marketing. That doesn't mean that the products are

bad or the company is a fraud; I just choose not to purchase

products that way.

Quackwatch overstates things -- just as many vendors of supplements

overstate things. It's my job to weigh all the evidence and decide.

I once researched a treatment suggested by my LLMD (QXCI) and

decided to try it even though Quackwatch had strong words to say

about it and my instinct agreed with Quackwatch. I came out of that

treatment quacking loudly!

Have you had bad experiences with MLM companies?? I have only bought from 3

different ones and all my product expereinces were really good. Natures

Sunshine, Dr. Wallachs, Mannatech. Lots of products at the health food

stores or at the chiropractor or naturopaths are from MLM's. Just curious

what the fear is??

Hi SUe,

I thank God every day for the fact I turned from allopathic meds and went

alternative. I think some people just are not there yet. I am not sure what

finally did it for me, but something kept telling me I was missing something

I kept asking my doctor " what should I be doing? " . He would just say, you

are fine with what your are doing!!!! Oh yeah, I was really fine, unable to

think, sleep, walk, talk, bad mood all the time, other then that I was

great! I don't have to go to far to see what my life would have looked

like had I not changed since I help people every day break the cycle, and

some are not doing well at all.

My passion to help grows more intense every day. We just have to keep

sharing when and where we can. Blessings,

It's not a fear. I don't like the fact that most MLMs are more

interested in recruiting more sales reps than they are in selling

products. Also, many MLMs claim that they have proprietary products

that effect all kinds of cures, but they are unwilling to subject them

to independent research. Finally, when I compare the prices, I find

that MLMs are generally quite a bit more expensive for similar

ingredients. For example, I take a green drink every morning called

Gree Vibrance. It costs half the prices of a couple of MLM green

drinks I looked into and includes probiotics that they don't.

Hi Jessie,

Hmmm, that is interesting, the person who got me started did not even tell

me anything about the business part until about 3 months after I started.

She called me all the time and was always wanting to know how I was. She

hooked me up with educational emails about healthy living and lifestyle. I

had never had this before, and certainly the guy at the health food store

did not know my name, and really did not know that much about the thousands

of products. She only told me about the business because I was telling all

my friends to call her for products, I had no knowledge of MLM at that time

As far as studies, food is not a harmful thing, unlike drugs. It is nice

to know what benefits certain foods will cause to happen in the body, but

unlike drugs there is no toxicity. I have seen lots of research on many

different products though, some clinical trial and stuff like that. I took

products from health food stores and from the interment for years and they

did not have that. Are you against all supplements?? I mean thinking that

only the MLM companies should be subjected to testing is kinda silly don't

you think? There are some new standards coming into the supplement market

soon call standard assays, or something like that and if a company says

there product can do this or that, they will have to prove it. This will

really eliminate alot of companies that are out there now. It will not

eliminate the company I buy from because they have already gone to this

method of testing and proving without waiting to be told.

As far as cost, and comparing supplements. That is really difficult unless

you know all the sources, the quality, the safety standards used to

manufacture etc., I was using expensive supplement for years prior to the

ones I use now, they were through the internet, but privately owned

companies, some by Dr. Whitaker, Dr. , I thought at the time

these were really good. Now I have learned alot more and these supplements

have some inferior raw materials, and some fillers that I would not want to

use anymore because of safety concerns. Just because one products says 1

000 mg. vitamin E, and the other says only 500Mg Vit E, does not mean the 1

000mg is better even if it is cheaper. My husband is a builder, a quality

builder, he has to do repairs on houses all the time that were built by

other builders that used inferior products, that were much cheaper. The

homeowner does not know this, and usually pays the price for quality stuff

and the builder cuts costs and puts the profit in his own pocket. In lots of

cases you don't get what you pay for. I went to the Green Vibrance website,

that looks like a really good product, but without GMP's you have know way

of really knowing that what they are saying is true. Also I use a green

products with some similar ingredients and my cost is $35.00 for 100

servings, which is $11.50 per month, add my pro-biotics and you have $29.00

total, your cost on your product is 41.00 for 30 servings.

Just one more thing and then I will be done. When you buy your green

vibrance, the owner of the company will take the money and pay for

advertsing, employees, raw materials, research, and shipping etc., When I

buy my products, the company will pay for raw materials, research, shipping,

they pay their associates who handle the advertising. The only difference is

that if you buy from online store you will most likely never have a mentor,

or personal coach to help guide your through your wellness program. With the

product I buy, I have a personal coach for life, someone who cares, and who

has become my friend. I don't know, but I think I like MLM more and more

every day. I get paid to get well, I have more friends then I ever had, I

get to help people get well, life is good. Well, just my 2 cents on MLM

versus regular online buying. Buyer beware no matter where you buy, there is

alot of inferior supplements out there and you have to know what you are

buying.
