Guest guest
I need to ask a couple questions about my cats and starting them on LDN, and I was kicked off the LDN/pets list for pointing out a spammer, so with the list's indulgence could I please have some feedback? I have a set of cat siblings who were deprived of colostrum as newborns, and then were exposed to a cat respiratory virus at a couple of weeks of age. Two of them have been relatively healthy, two of them have been very unwell. They are now 9 years old. One of the unwell ones may have skin cancer and had vestibular disease earlier this year. The other one overgrooms and had liver failure (in response to a spot-on flea remedy) earlier this year, her liver (and kidney) enzymes are now normal, but she's never really been herself again and now she has some kind of brain infection. She used to have asthma that required prednisone but that stopped after she survived a mountain lion attack. Both cats have always had skin problems-- weird exudate over their faces. Both have improved massively under my vet's care, their skin is near normal now, but both still have systemic problems. My vet is holistic and isn't opposed to LDN, but she thinks it should be saved as a last resort (yes, even in the veterinary world). I've been listening to her about this but I've decided they should have the LDN. Maybe it will help educate her. One question is, should I start the LDN on the cat who is currently on antibiotics right away, or wait until she recovers from this brain infection (she has neurological symptoms)? The other question is, I know I've been told this before, but what is the dose for cats? One is under 10 lbs, the other about 12 pounds. I know it might seem strange that these cats suffer so much that I still want to heal them, but they are so happy to be alive. And they are such beautiful spirits. They definitely want to be on the planet. Thank you for listening. -- My question is, one of the cats is currently sick and on antibiotics ~~~ There is no way to peace; peace is the way ~~~~ --A.J.
