Guest guest
Hi... my name is Dani... I was diagnosed with Crohn's at the early age of 17... and now I am 53... I have numerous bowel resections and about 15 years ago has all of my large bowel.. rectum etc. removed and given a ostomy with 6-8 feet of small bowel remaining.. I have suffered with a " short gut " for the years that followed.. have dealt with and continue to deal with absorption of my food... trying to get enough and any nutritional value out of what I do get... lol and after several bouts of dehydration have damaged my kidneys as well... All of the conditions are Crohn's based.. and under control... so too speak... Over the past several months I have developed " gout " like arthritis in my baby finger on right hand.. to point that it is now bend and then it migrated into the my left big toe lower joint...at the side of the food and underneath... I have been told this all associated with my Crohn's... I was given a short coarse of anti inflammatory which reeked havoc on my stomach... and now use something called " pensaid " ... which I rub on both joints several times a day..which helps. Also an anti inflammatory. I have been doing research on different treatments.. diet etc. to help with this and found this group and the LDN... I am wondering if there are any Canadians on this drug. Particularity any that live in Northern Ontario. I have also contacted Dr. Cohen @ Mt. Sinai in Toronto as him and his team there do a lot of research etc. with IBD and I have had dealings with them in the past. thanks for any help.
