Sounds like fear mongering to me.  Without facts to back it up I would not put an credence to it.JaxiOn Tue, Nov 23, 2010 at 12:03 PM, =^..^= <gabbycats@...> wrote:

Would anyone with any information on this issue, ie deaths and ldn, please contact me asap. We must nip this in the bud if not true and must disseminate it quickly if it is.

that is an utter lie, meant to discredit LDN, period. Utter

nonsense. Where is this going on?

There have been a number of clinical studies, plus a number of doctors who

have treated thousands of patients. Is there any organization anywhere

tracking patients who are taking statin drugs? no. And those drugs are in

fact causing severe injury to people. The lack of a tracking organization

in no way indicative of negative implications.

We have the clinical record before us, and in fact we have more access to

the clinical record than a lot of drugs do, because of the need for

patient-to-patient education and grassroots transmittance between doctors.

One thing about this world, you need to not be willing to be pushed around

by every rumor you hear on facebook. We would not be here on this list

assuring people of its safety if there were any type of risk such as you

describe.

But yes, people taking LDN have died, of their illnesses, eventually, or

perhaps of old age. But not because of anything the LDN did to them. In

fact they have lived longer than they would have if they hadn't been taking it.

You should be willing to share the facebook address if you want anyone to

address the particulars of what was said, but we don't need that address to

know how absurd the claim is.

DENISE IS RIGHT!PEOPLE TAKING LDN HAD LOVED ONES WHO DIED, AND THE LDN STOPPED WORKING AS WELL WITH ALL THE STRESS OF THE LOVED ONES' DEATH UPON THE PERSON TAKING LDN.

QUOTE:"but, then the most awful thing happened: i witnessed both of my parents die within 4 days of each other. only expected dad to go. mom went first. my closest uncle died 4 weeks before them. that whole thing devastated me. and i suppose the LDN stopped working as effectively. since they all died, i've been sick a few times. this past weekend, it was serious gastroenteritis."-----------------------------

It was more like LDN associated with Death, not Death associated with LDN

thats a lot of stress to deal with even for people who don't have immune system disorders --- stress in itself effects the body in very negative ways especially the stomach and thats a lot to deal withcyndiOn Nov 23, 2010, at 5:25 PM, LarryGC wrote:http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=10412539044 & topic=12453 DENISE IS RIGHT!PEOPLE TAKING LDN HAD LOVED ONES WHO DIED, AND THE LDN STOPPED WORKING AS WELL WITH ALL THE STRESS OF THE LOVED ONES' DEATH UPON THE PERSON TAKING LDN. From the information I've been able to gather on the web, the Naltrexone related

deaths are from those being treated for opioid addiction. While taking not LDN

but standard prescribed Naltrexone (50mg+), individuals take even more opioid

drugs or alcohol to overcome the opioid-blocking effect of Naltrexone and end up

overdosing. In actuality they are not dying from taking Naltrexone but by

overdosing to get high.

As far as Facebook is concerned, this is what I found concerning LDN. It's not

death FROM LDN. It's about death (family) and LDN.

I don't know where the 'death' rumor started about LDN but it seems to be ruse

to get everyone off topic IMHO. If anyone found something different, please let

us know.

I think it is one big misunderstanding. I had seen post about person with MS taking LDN whose parents died within few days of each other. Probably because she was under a lot of stress, LDN stopped working for her as well as it used to. That post did NOT said parents, who died were taking LDN.

Good grief, how does the understanding of things get so twisted? The people who

died were not taking LDN, right? The writer simply commented that the stress of

losing her relatives might have made LDN less effective for herself. Who

wouldn't have an exacerbation after such a shock, no matter what they were

taking?

No connection between LDN & death!

Her post was totally misunderstood, it would seem.

Its good to straighten these things out real quick. I am glad to hear that it was just a mis-interpretation of some ones plight. Sorry to hear about this person's problems though.
