On IV Rocephin

Well, after a week of IV I'm still kicking. Maybe it's just my

imagination but I seem to feel better already and seem to have less

fatigue. It's a real drag to have the lines in my arms but on the

whole this is easier to take than oral abx, as there seems to be fewer

side effects.

Duncan --Good luck with this treatment! I also had Rocephin PICC

line for 28 days in Novemebr. I preferred it also to oral abx which

I am on now.

While I had a lot of new symptoms on Rocephin I have had no

exacerbations on Ketek & Amox combined for over a month now. How many

g are you on? I was on 1g/1xday. I had to go and have the dressing

changed once a week and CBC done also. In spite of all this treatment

I continue to test positive with IgM antibodies. I had a test just a

few days ago. -- Lida

I'm on 2g/1x/day. A home IV nurse comes in every few days to change my

dressings, etc.

Testing poitive for antibodies is not really an indicator of active

infection or the reverse. Your body will continue prducing antibodies

long after the LD is (hopefully) gone. The fact that you are not

herxing on the oral abx may be a very good sign, however.

Hey Duncan,

Glad to hear you are feeling better and not herxing. Let us know

if/when the herx hits.
