Guest guest
What a crazy amount of money! I have Hashi`s and meds for it and get bloodwork done every six month to keep it monitored. Treating it with regular bloodwork and meds just doesnt cost that much. My GP treats it (although I did see a rhumatologist originally) but I cant imagine what could cost so very much! Do you take LDN for it or for something else? I would want a new body part for 6 grand! > > I was wondering if anyone has ever seen or been treated by a chiropractic neurologist. I saw one today, and I feel he can help me, but the fees are astronomical. This guy pretty much told me I have Hashimotos Disease, and I believe him. I think my thyroid IS my main issue in ALL my autoimmune problems. > So for a 6 month treatment it will cost me $6,000. That does include the blood work, but isn't this excessive?? > I have no idea HOW I can afford this, yet I know I desperately need this and other issues addressed, and he seems to know exactly what to do and what is wrong with me without my saying a word and he pretty much nailed a couple of things just by looking at me. > I would really appreciate any input in regar d to this.....Thanks~L.P. >
Guest guest
I've never heard of a chiropractic neurologist, not that that means anything. Is he primarily a neurologist or chiropractor? In my (limited) experience even if he is primarily a chiropractor some people in the less regular health field can become more adept than most regular doctors at observing little things that regular docs are often too busy to pick up. That said, and being in Australia I'm not familiar with American health care costs, $6,000 for 6 months treatment seems excessive given that he will obviously not guarantee any results. Guest guest
Is this chiropractic neurologist an MD? I've never heard of a chiropractor charging $1000/month for treatments unless you'd be going in 10 times a month or something. If you don't have the money, you can probably find treatment a lot less expensively-- the stress of trying to come up with the money will not be good for your health. Yes, no doubt you have thyroid problems, but it doesn't require $6K to diagnose and treat-- the full test panel is around $400 and that's usually done every 3 months at the beginning, plus office visits and meds. We may be able to help you find practitioners in your area if you tell us whereabouts you are. I don't think people should go bankrupt to get healthcare. -- >What a crazy amount of money! Guest guest
Hashi's and all the thyroid illnesses were once diagnosed only by symptoms and were adequately treated with natural thyroid concentrated glandulars and iodine. Lab tests and synthetics have not actually created better care for thyroid problems because each person has a unique balance so strict adherence to numbers for treatment does not produce optimal health-- many people struggle for years trying to get properly treated with conventional medicine. Plus fear of iodine leaves people deficient and unable to process thyroid hormone. So yes I agree with you there for sure. However, that's just outrageous to ask someone to pay. It's hard not to use the word greed. -- >I've never heard of a chiropractic neurologist, not that that means >anything. Is he primarily a neurologist or chiropractor? Guest guest
$1000 a month for 6 months. $1000 a month equals how many visits of what types of treatments and does this include supplements/medication or are supplements/medications on top of this amount? $1000 a month on top of insurance or is this with no insurance? I have insurance. Every time I get something done I get an explanation of benefits. Every visit to the doctor costs between 100-300 dollars for the insurance company - 35 bucks for me - co-pay - and this is for office visits. PT appts were always interesting to see what they billed and of course what got paid. They tended to charge for every modality used - ultra sound - charge, electric stim - charge, manipulation - charge, massage - charge, etc etc. Any specialized appt tends to cost even more - US of my thyroid for example was very costly, the recent fine needle biopsy is likely to have been quite spendy too although I just got that done and haven't seen the cost yet. So, is $1000 a month excessive. Maybe yes, maybe no. Depends on many things including what is being offered, the skills of the person offering it, etc. HOWEVER ... that said ... if you cannot afford it it does not matter whether the services are worth the price. They are only worth the price if the service is a quality service AND you can afford it. If they ask for 6k up front for a 6 month series of services that they determine you NEED, I would tend towards HIGH sketicism, even if I could afford it and would thoroughly check this person out. Make sure their degrees are real and from accredited school(s). Check the BBB to see if there have been any claims made against them. Check the medical and/or chiropractic licensing boards to see if their license(s) is/are in good standing and if there are any complaints against them. Guest guest
L.P. I have heard of a chiropractic neurologist though I have never seen one. Is he/she an M.D.? The $6,000 fee is for what kind of treatment??? Guaranteed results??? No one can guarantee a treatment will or will not work. An endocrinologist can treat Hashimoto's (as well as taking LDN and other suppls) and will also take your current insurance, if any, and if not, would not be anywhere near $6,000 to treat. Anyone who charges such astronomical prices for ???? treatment should substantiate the reasons for being so high. Neurologists don't treat Hashimoto's. It just doesn't seem to make sense. I have Hashimoto's and have four drs who oversee it - rheumatologist, endocrinologist, nutritionist (alternative) and chiropractor. All 4 of these drs combined do not come near to charging me $6,000!!! Check that sheep for wolf skin because this just doesn't add up. I'd be extremely cautious. Just my opinion.
