I need to do something. I'm having a hard time getting my brain to be organized enough to work as much as I need financially. However, I do have a cat sitting business and it suits my LymeBrain mode. It can be very lucrative. Now, I'm looking for suggestions on how to keep organized and motivated enough to promote the biz to get enough clients. Sometimes I wonder if I could get some doctor to send me to some professional who helps people with attention deficit disorder. There are medical professionals like that, aren't there? I would think that they could help people with cognitive difficulties in organizing and keeping focused. Does anyone know anything about that? Guest guest
I don't usually post but as the subject of itching has come up I wanted to just Write and say that I keep my itching under control by staying off sugar and by using an Antidandruff shampoo ,Nizoral ( ketoconazole) to wash myself with all over.. it really works.. ,my doc told me the itching comes from a fungus that grows on our skin from The use of antibiotics ( theres nothing to see- just the itch)..he was right ... The nizoral Knocks it down dead . Eating sugar aggravates it so keeping your sugar intake down to Absolute minimum helps a lot.. I hope someone can benefit from this advice. Dona _____ From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of Ann Prow Sent: Friday, 27 January 2006 10:31 AM aiden424@...; Subject: [ ] Chronic Itching * Well, as I see it there's itching and then there's chronic itching. I have been dealing with chronic itching on my back and legs (as well as my arms and head) for hours on end unable to keep myself from staying still no less try to sleep. I take antihistamines, take high doses of Benedryl, apply topical benedryl, take warm showers and scrub my back with a back brush and all I do is squirm and it actually hurts at times. I starting to believe it's a herx and I also think it doesn't help to use an abrasive laundry soap. I was told by a lady I trust that Tide now causes her family to itch (that they have glass in their new formula??) and I had bought some Tide since it was on sale, so I stopped using it and my legs don t itch as much (not gone but better.) I cannot keep up with all the emails on this groups since I am dealing with neuro-lyme and get so confused sometimes, so I am asking if anyone has a great solution - or even a good one that works for them, to contact me (aprow@npgcable) cause it is really, really causing havoc in my life. I need to sleep longer since I am really not sleeping well, so there's isn t much left to the day when I sleep from 10 to 12 hrs and then sometimes even take a nap. I'm getting migraines recently since I am taking ABX to get through the BB - these affect my life too. Then I feel like what's left of the day whisks by and I end up frustrated just because it takes me so long to get anything done since my brain is slow and confused, I simply want to quit even trying. All this, and I am concerned about financially making it. Just wish there was a solution to this horrific illness, I just cannot believe I am wasting my days, my life away going from one ABX to another and really not making the progress I had hoped. Oh yes, and people say, " you don t look sick! " I have very little tolerance for those who have a small ache or pain that will go away....I think I'll never be well and have lived most of my life like this. I know my frustration shows as being upset and/or angry at people and then I hibernate. I just cannot take the itching which sounds so minor but can affect everything everyday. Today I stopped taking my ABX since I believe I am herxing and the itching is a bit better and I hope tomorrow will be even better than today - but I am not making progress with killing the 'sketes. Thanks for letting me vent - I needed to do this - perhaps now, I can go and get something done so I feel that I accomplished something today. I hate the feeling of wasting days after days. BTW, does anyone have a idea of how to make some extra cash easily when dealing with all this? I need to do something. Thanks for listening! Guest guest
Deanna, I would recommend an electronic personal organizer (Palm type of device). They are very compact and very functional. You can use them for email communications, calendar scheduling, Tasks reminders and host of other personal orgaizational types of functions. You do a little research on the Internet and then look into some deals on eBay as a possibility. Even if your not a " gadget " person I would recommend them for anyone that has trouble with organization. There are also some great programs you can run on these to help you manage your medicines and doctor appointments :-) Be well, > > > BTW, does anyone have a idea of how to make some extra cash easily when > > dealing with all this? Guest guest
Hang in there, Ann! We've all felt like this was one huge waste of time to fight this stinkin' disease. The " you don't look sick " thing always gets me, too! I can't help with your itching, but I can tell you that this is the perfect place to vent. I can also tell you that I've gotten past the frustration (well, at least for today) of going from one abx to the next by assuming that I need to pulse my drugs (including my herbs for Lyme) and maybe I'll get lucky and find the right combination that will finally cure all the little ba****ds. And if I don't find the right combination to effect a cure, maybe I'll find something that gives me more good days than I currently have. This is me, however, on a good day a couple of days after the end of a Herx when I'm tired by otherwise feeling good! Guest guest
I actually know something about this because I have a friend who is ADD and works with students with learning disabilities or brain injuries. You can be evaluated for ADD or other cognitive difficulties, then a counselor or psychologist who works with that kind of population can help with strategies. I can't point you to a resource because I haven't thought about this before. If I can think of it the next time I see my friend, I'll ask her what she would recommend. Guest guest
HI Rose Marie No Nizoral doesn't contain selenium. You can actually get nizoral in pill form on script for fungal infections but its not too kind on the liver apparently.. Guest guest
Dona Good idea to use it on the skin- I was amazed at how much our skin will absorb. It's common sense, but I'd never thought about it before. Take care Rose Marie > > HI Rose Marie > > No Nizoral doesn't contain selenium. > > You can actually get nizoral in pill form on script for fungal infections > but its not too kind on the liver apparently.. > > Dona > > > >
Guest guest
I had severe itching for two months that may have been related to immune activation. I got it treated with three weeks of monocycline and it went away. http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/life-style/health-fitness/health/Acne-drug-may-help-prevent-HIV-breakout/articleshow/5705770.cms nelson
