Guest guest
Yes... Buhner's book 'Healing Lyme' outlines (in great detail) his Core Protocol for treating Lyme. The book also clearly details treatment for every co-infection, plus symptoms associated with Lyme (arthritis, headaches, etc.)...Tom [ ] core protocol I just want to make sure that I didn't misunderstand, but does the " core protocol " that is being mentioned refer to what Buhner recommends in his book? Thanks, Margh

Guest guest
Speaking for myself, I'm on the CP. I started the CP around the 3rd week of November, and quit after a few weeks (I felt lousy - restless leg acted up, nervous, etc. - I soon found out that the optional supplement Sarsaparilla was the culprit). I started the CP again the beginning of December (without Sarsaparilla), and have been on it ever since. The basic CP consists of Andrographis, Resveratrol, and Cat's Claw. I followed Buhner's dosage exactly, worked my way up to the maximum dose, and I've been on the maximum dose for a few weeks. I have no ill side affects (since dropping Sarsaparilla), and I can gratefully & joyfully say that I feel almost well - I feel like I'm on the right track with the CP, plus high doses of Amoxicillin. I don't know what the future holds, but I can say that I have mental clarity, enthusiasm, and more energy than I've had for awhile. I plan to take the CP as described, and continue the maximum dose until early March (or maybe the end of March), then gradually taper off - continuing the supplements until the end of summer. I suppose the true testimonial will be how I feel by the end of this year, but for now, I give this 2 thumbs up! Guest guest
There are at least 2 of us who have tried the core protocol (Tom & I) and there are others who have tried parts of it. It took me 9 weeks to build to the full amount. In week 8 I Herxed stronger than I've Herxed in quite a while. Just as I was thinking it wasn't having an effect I got laid low with a Herx. Guest guest
Tom, where do you buy the supplements? On-line? I'm guessing they ain't cheap. I'm thinking of giving it a go. --------- Re: [ ] core protocol > > > Sorry if I missed the thread, but how many here have tried the Buhner > protocol? Guest guest
Greetings...Actually, the supplements are pretty affordable. I buy my supplements from 2 different sites - if one has to backorder, I buy from the other. I have the supplement / store information below. It takes several weeks to get to the maximum dose - once I reached the maximum dose, I take approximately (2) bottles Resveratrol weekly, (1) bottle Andrograhpis weekly, and (1/2) bottle Cat's Claw weekly - that's around $37 per week. Not too bad, considering my migraine medicine is $23 a pill! The Cat's Claw I take is double strength, and the Andrographis & Resveratrol are regular strength (per Buhner's book). A few months ago, I bought a pill case at CVS - it has 28 slots. There are 7 days (columns), and 4 pill compartments for each day - which works perfectly for the CP - the maximum dose is taken 4 times daily. I couldn't keep track of this without this pill case. Once a week I fill up the 28 pill slots - each slot get (4) tablets of Andrographis, (4) tablets of Resveratrol, and (2) tablets of Cat's Claw. By the end of the day I've taken 40 supplement pills which is the maximum dosage of the CP. I have a sensitive stomach, and have NO problems taking this many pills, and I do not have any gastrointestinal problems because of them. I'll be on the maximum dose until the end of February / beginning of March, then will taper off slowly through August 2006. Guest guest
I get my CP herbs primarily at iherb.com. I estimate that the full dose for me (3 of each three times a day of sarsaparilla, resveratrol, andrographis, and cat's claw) costs about $140 a month. Guest guest
Jessie I assume you're doing well on the CP too? Can you mix in other supplements and vitamins? -------------- Original message ---------------------- From: " Jessie MacMillan " <jessiemacmillan@...> > I get my CP herbs primarily at iherb.com. Guest guest
I'm not doing the CP right now, but I'll be starting it again next week. And, you're right, I'm taking other supplements and vitamins and even antibiotics. Jessie > > > > > > Tom, where do you buy the supplements? On-line? I'm guessing they > > ain't cheap. Guest guest
CP is short for Buhner's herbal Core Protocol, detailed in his book " Healing Lyme.
