Guest guest
Re using a Dr. Many of us do not have a Dr who believe in LDN or will give us a script for one. My Psychiatrist who I see once every 6 weeks for 15 minutes was the one who agreed to write my script after reading all the materials. He spoke with the pharmacy and they started me on 1.5 for a month, 3.0 for a month and then 4.5, which I have been on for 5 days. Very few Dr's will take medical/medicaid so we are stuck with the Dr's who will or we would not have any Dr's. Many of us with chronic illnesses have had to be our own health advocates and do our own due diligence. I learn much from these groups. I learned about 5 HTP and it was the only thing that finally got rid of the depression I was dealing with. I am grateful. Most Dr's do about one semester on Nutrition and very little on supplements. If one does not have excellent private insurance or lots of money, we - I do the best I can.I was a nurse before I got sick. My Dr does test my thyroid and he did help me with getting a sleep study which showed I had severe sleep apnea. So, I am grateful, however, I am not doing this on my own out of choice but out of necessity. I am grateful to all the Dr's who post information about dealing with yeast problems, sleep problems etc... "Courage does not always roar. Sometimes, it is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, "I will try again tomorrow"."
