Guest guest
Oh Carol I am so sorry to hear that your husband died last month, this must be devastating for you. Thank you so much for coming on to the forum to tell us about his Statin treatment by his GP and how these had never helped him. My husband had a heart attack, the doctors put him on Statins too, but he refused to take them - and thank goodness. Instead he takes 300mcgs CoEnzyme Q10 and 350 mgs Niacin (vitamin B3). Another 'alternative' doctor told me to put him on these and take away the Statins. Luv - Sheila Well my hubby was being treated for 20 years for high blood pressure and used to go every 6 months to see his GP, he prescribed statins when they were fairly new, he had an heart attack in May,they said his heart was so bad they could only treat him with pills, he died last month so the statins didn't do a thing for him, and the GP wasn't that good or he would have done more checks on his heart, and not just take his blood pressure, didn't have any faith in GP's before but now it's absolutely zilch. _,_._,___
Guest guest
I took statins for 2/3 years but stopped them about a year ago because my muscles were deteriorating - I only found out the damage statins can do after a friend warned me. But as I also have Hashimotos, I cannot prove it was solely the statins that caused the damage. The practice nurse is still trying to get me back on them because my cholesterol is high - just shows she is not up to date with current findings. This is what`s called IATROGENESIS (the harm done by medical interventions). Guest guest
Jane, try 300mgs CoEnzymeQ10 and 350 Niacin (vitamin B3) - but use the flushing kind. The non-flushing is not what you need here. These are the best natural things you can take to lower high cholesterol.
