It actually isn't that expensive. I have had it for one month and haven't

used an entire spray bottle yet. The bottle is probably 10 oz. I apply it

two times a day. Once all over my body (liberally) and then on my

shoulders, and chest at night because I have TMJ and it helps to relax me.

It is a lot to lay out initially but it will probably end up being around

$15-20 per month.

I'm confused by " Ocean Minerals " and " Ancient Minerals " . There seem sto be

a big difference in price. Which one are you recommending ? Sorry

if you've already answered this & I didn't catch it.

I think one is stronger if I remember correctly. My doctor only stocks the

Ancient Minerals (blue label) and that is what I have been using.

-Has anyone ever seen a certificate of analysis on this ancient

minerals mag oil? There could be all sorts of undesirable impurities

in it. Just because it is old and " natural " doesn't guarantee absence

of toxic impurities.

Dr. Brownstein had it analyzed and it was clean of toxins.

We've looked at all the certificates of analysis and a comparison of some of the main points can be found in Dr. Sircus' essay on this at: http://www.magnesiumforlife.com/product_analysis.shtml I believe you can also contact LL's Magnetic Clay for copies of the analyses.

$15 a month is still rather expensive compared to MgCl2 used for tofu

making. If nigari was that expensive, tofu would retail for more

than organic roast beef.

I'm reposting here some info on Nigari that I learned. basically Nigari, used in tofu might be a good and cheaper alternative, but I'm not sure about the mixing to obtain the same percentage of magnesium chloride, and I've tried it and again found it more watery , suitable for using in baths though. See below

Nigari is not always magnesium chloride..watch the labels. and when it is, it is most likely "refined" Nagari, allowed to be used and labeled as "natural". Most tofu shops sell the refined form.

Japanese production of refined nigari continues to be extraction from sea water, available via two different extraction methods: 1) the ion-exchange process or 2) a method in which sea water is concentrated, filtered, bleached, and cooked to yield magnesium and natural salt. Most tofu producers in the U.S. use refined nigari processed according to the second method. Although from seawater, refined nigari must be classified as a synthetic due to the bleaching process in its manufacture Food grade magnesium chloride made in the U.S. is produced from the reaction between hydrochloric acid and magnesium. It, too, is a synthetic process, albeit very pure, sanitary, and safe to use. However, since the Japanese source is extracted from sea water, it appears that it remains "more natural" than U.S. food grade magnesium chloride.

While other types of coagulants can be used to produce tofu, such as calcium chloride, calcium sulfate, magnesium sulfate, and glucono delta-lactone, most manufacturers use magnesium chloride (or refined nigari) as at least the primary coagulant (often a blend of coagulants is used) to achieve the flavor and texture that is typically preferred.

Magnesium oil is unrefined, from evaporated seawater...not heated, not bleached.... much more natural than Nigari generally obtainable in most markets.

Well it is one of the cheaper supplements for me. I have some that run $70

per month. I can feel a difference from taking it so to me it is worth it.

My supplement protocol is very expensive. But that's the price I pay for

being a cancer patient. This is better than the alternative. I have my

life back. That is worth something to my family too.

Here is a site that might be a little cheaper but not much. I don't

know anything about this supplier. If it comes from the sea can't

you just get your magnesium from sea salt?

Magnesium Oil 16 oz

Save $$$

Introductory Special Only $29.95 Reg. Price $39.95

This form of magnesium is that it is easily absorbed into the body

through the skin and is delivered directly to the cellular level.

This Magnesium comes from the sea.

I can't afford it right now myself. Its christmas an I'm stretched

to say the least.

I know that there are some issues with toxicity. I didn't see a brand name

for this item. If anyone is interested in this item I would be sure to

contact them and ask for information on purity. That is why Dr. Sircus

switched from the brand he previously recommend to the one he is using now

(Ancient Minerals and Ocean Minerals). I personally am concerned about

adding more toxins into my body.

Thanks for the link - if anyone checks them out or has info about this

product please share.

Hi, . I use Ancient Minerals and find it stings quite a bit, but

less so than the Global Light product. The stinging has not diminished

for me as time has passed.

I do wipe it off with a damp washcloth after 30 minutes, and then the

stinging stops. Magnesium oil has helped a lot with my insomnia, so I'm

willing to put up with the stinging for half an hour each night.

Seeing as a few people are chatting about Magnesium oil..I have one question..all of the stuff from Mark Sircus is mostly about how very very positive the transdermal magnesium can be..

however no one seems to know or write about people who seem to react negatively to even moderate magnesium therapy.

My mother soaked her feet in just two teaspoons of magnesium flakes and was totally zonked the next day..she has had this reaction also when taking magnesium!

It seems she can only tolerate very small doses..and she does not have known disease of any organ..obviously older people have organs that are smaller and much less efficient, even those on excellent regimes do not keep the organ size or function of their youth.!

My brother also seems to be magnesium sensitive too!

any thoughts on this appreciated

I ordered the 64 ounce jug of Ancient Minerals Mag oil last night and

plan to start using it also.

When you buy this size, do you just pour some in a spray bottle to use

it that way?

How do others use it. I downloaded the info from the

www.magnesiumforlife site.

I know I am deficient. My MD Internal medicine doctor who is now doing

complementary treatments did a sympathetic muscle test on me and I was

deficient. He recommended CALM but I hate the taste.

I also used a product called Oxy-mag and that gave me explosive

eliminations.

This oil might be the answer for me.

Thanks for any help and if anyone wants to write me with suggestions

off list, that would be great also.

Yes I have a 8 oz spray bottle that I just poured it into and have been using it that way. It has lasted over a month and I use it on my entire body 2x a day. It has about 1/4 left now.

There are other instructions for the new Ancient Minerals http://www.magneticclay.com/Magnesium-Oil-Guide.pdf

I have enjoyed using it . It has been calming to me especially at night I sleep better. I want to try it in a foot bath soon. That is supposed to help too. I will be trying it on my kids too. I have been reading Mark Sircus' book on Transdermal Magnesium Therapy and it is a real eye opener for why we need it. I think it is helping me with my mercury detoxing. It assists in glutathione production.

Hope that helps!

I am cautious with magnesium/calcium balance, too much magnesium gives me

cramps. So does too much calcium. The protocol I use for supplementing is

based on autonomic nervous system (ANS) balance. Some people have one side of

their ANS stronger than the other. This determines individual nutritional

requirements including magnesium / calcium balance and which forms of

magnesium and calcium are beneficial.

Experimentation is how I am figuring out what balance is good for me. Your

mother may need a different form of magnesium, or a different amount of

calcium in relation to magnesium.

From what I understand of the above theory, magnesium is most beneficial to

people who have a strong sympathetic nervous system. For those with a

stronger parasympathetic ANS, calcium needs are higher.

Karima

however no one seems to know or write about people who seem to react

negatively to even moderate magnesium therapy.
