Guest guest
Hi, I don't want to freak you out, but have you ever been tested for the Hepatitis C virus? - Lichen Planus is very common in folks with this virus - according to this report, 60% of people with lichen planus have a history of hepatitis. But however it is being caused , the LDN should probably help it in the long run - A lot of times, people have worsening of symptoms in the beginning, particularly skin disorders. Give it some time - and you might also consider a gluten free diet, which will also help. "Studies have found that up to 60 percent of people with lichen planus have a history of Hepatitis C. For this reason, it has been recommended that people with lichen planus (especially with elevated liver enzymes) should be tested for the Hepatitis C virus." http://www.hepatitis-central.com/mt/archives/2009/11/all_about_an_hc.html Good luck, Nola Chris In a message dated 6/7/2010 10:22:48 A.M. Guest guest
Hi Margaret, You do NOT need to stop the LDN for local or even general aesthetic. Those are not opiates. You DO have to stop LDN if you will require opiate pain relief after the dental treatment (such as vicodin or codeine), but aspirin, ibuprofen, etc., are safe for use for pain relief, and non-opiate sedatives are fine (like valium). If you have concerns, call your dentist's office now and ask if you'll require any opiates. I don't know anything about the Lichen Planus-- I'm sorry. I have vitilago, a skin-pigment autoimmune, in addition to Hashimoto's and fibromyalgia. The vitilago has not gone away, but I don't think it is any worse. I started LDN in Dec 2009. wishing you well, -- At 10:22 AM 6/7/2010, you wrote: >I have been taking LDN since October 2009 and feel my health has >improved.Have suffered with Low thyroid for 18 years the past 3 being >bad.My thyroid blood tests were good and I could even reduce thyroxine >slightly. > >I have a couple of questions and would be grateful for any help >1. Guest guest
In case you want two opinions, I concur with . the only problem you would encounter if given opiates for pain relief is that your pain would not be relieved, but that is all.On Mon, Jun 7, 2010 at 3:18 PM, Baker <vbaker@...> wrote: Hi Margaret, You do NOT need to stop the LDN for local or even general aesthetic. Guest guest
That's why I suggested she call the dentist. The practitioner doing the procedure should always be consulted. -- At 08:56 PM 6/7/2010, you wrote: >I'm sorry but general can include opiates. >My family has had problems with anasthesia > and I have been given advice from an >anasthesiologist that they use naltreone >to block opiate receptors to control the effects >of anasthesia ( respiration) > > >Sent from my iPhone > >On Jun 7, 2010, at 3:18 PM, Baker ><<mailto:vbaker@...>vbaker@...> wrote: > >> >> >>Hi Margaret, >> >>You do NOT need to stop the LDN for local or even general aesthetic.
