Guest guest
One test isn't sufficient to rule out Hashimoto's. 90% of people with hypothyroidism have Hashimoto's and the antibodies do fluctuate so it requires more than one test to make the diagnosis because they can sometimes appear in the normal range. I have Graves' disease and at first the diagnosis was Hashimoto's. Have probably had a total of about five tests before this diagnosis was conclusive. My antibodies have done many soars and dips. I highly recommend the excellent book " Why Do I Still Have Thyroid Symptoms When My Labs Are Normal " by Datis Kharrazian. He's on the cutting edge of understanding autoimmune thyroid illness from a functional perspective. ~Elanne
