Guest guest
I have never had to crush a tablet. They just fall apart and dissolve in the water in a minute or two. It is kind of an extra step that is unnecessary and distorts the dosage if you leave residue on the spoons and funnel. Drop the pill in the jar. Add 50 ml of water. Shake after a couple of minutes. Measure out the desired dosage of mg in a equal number of ml. 1.5 mg is 1.5 ml. 3mg is 3ml. Not really much need for math :-) Good luck, it works well for us, Francie http://LDN-for-MS.com
Guest guest
ok, it's unanimous, the tabs don't have to be crushed as they dissolve readily. crushing was the instructions i first read and always have done so, never tried not crushing. i'm going to be happy to not crush. ________________________________ one 50mg tab crushed up and mixed into 50ml distilled water becomes 1 mg = 1 ml of solution. one tab = eleven 4.5mg doses, or 16 doses of 3.0mg (with a bit of leftover) get a brown bottle with an eyedropper top. get a baby medicine spoon at the drugstore... a tube with a spoonish end, marked in ml., about $3 carefully measure 50ml water into the bottle. put tape at the water line so you don't have to measure every time you mix a new tab. crush a tab. mortar & pistle is nice, but two different sized spoons works good also. good to use a small funnel to pour the powder into the bottle. a piece of paper shaped into a cone will work shake it up good. let sit a couple minutes and shake again. store in frig. clean out good between batches. many folks us a syringe instead of the baby med spoon. whatever is available and works is fine. to dose: use the dropper to put as much as needed into the baby med spoon. toss into the back of the mouth to avoid tasting it. have a drink of water. clean teeth... nobody knowledgeable has commented on whether the solution will attack the teeth... what is the pH ???
