Can any doctor order these tests? I went to my sliding scale clinic and that

doctor was utterly convinced i do not have systemic candida ( i am a textbook

case) and flat refused to even consider testing!!!!! Do I need an N.D., can i

just find *any* doctor who would be inclined to take me seriously? (of course

naturopathic medical people will be more open, will they not?)

Thanks!

Louise

I believe your dr tested candida antibody in blood igg, igm, and iga. It doesn't

mean candida in blood. It means antibodies. When you have systemic candidiasis

and you are immunecompetent, this test should show reliable results. If the test

was negative and your immune system is working " properly " , you probably don't

have systemic candida. This test can show false negative when the person is

immune deficient. Candida immune complexes is a very reliable test to detect

systemic candida.

Any MD can order candida immune complexes test. IGM, IGG, IGA, are the 3 main

antibody types found in blood. IGE can also help. If this test is negative and

you don't have any severe immune deficient state, you don't have systemic

candidiasis. Remember, the systemic concept is different when you evaluate

intestinal candidiasis. When candida is in the gut, its toxins are able to cross

the gut barrier and get the blood stream, so you are going to feel a general

toxic state because these toxins are circulating in your body and affecting many

organs.

Worse than that, how many people die from causes that could be directly

linked to candidia? Sylvia

I have some information posted on my blog:

http://healingfromlupus.blogspot.com

It just lists a few things I have tried myself (SCD, Nystatin) with some

reference articles - the tags on the right should guide you to the related

content.

Currently I'm trying the Phase I diet by Cousens, MD. I'm raw vegan, so

the switch wasn't as severe to me as it may be to someone who is consuming

processed foods on a regular basis. I didn't find the Specific Carbohydrate

Diet to be much help. The first time I took Nystatin it worked well, but this

last time, I'm still having a hard time shaking the Candida. It probably had

something to do with all of the sweet fruit I had in my diet. The candida

started again because I came down with c. Difficile and a nasty parasite prior

to going raw vegan. It landed me in the hospital a couple times so the doctors

decided to try to treat them with a couple different kinds of antibiotics. A

year later, I still have c. Difficile and am working to get the Candida under

control. Fun times :)

I'm pretty opposed to Diflucan. It works well, but is murder on the liver, and

I don't have the strongest one to begin with.

of different antibitotics.  Would someone please give me information about

dealing with candida?  Thanks very much in advance.

For TPA members, the discounted price is £62.57. See our FILES

section under 'Discounts on Tests and Supplements' and on the page that opens,

click on 'Genova Discounts' and follow the instructions there.

I would imagine - and maybe someone can correct me if I'm wrong - that most

people don't know they have it until they hear about it and get tested for

it.
