Yes. my AMD suddenly deteriorated at the same time as the pain and inflammation of RA in autumn, 2008. I'd known I had drusen since 2004 but could see normally till then. Anyway I started LDN in April 2009 for the RA and my vision responded almost immediately, though it was about 3 weeks before I was convinced - I was afraid of wishful thinking. I reckon I got about 90% back on what I'd lost so now have only a few small bumps on lines as opposed to large peaks, and with glasses there are no blanks when I read.Hope this helps.MargaretFrom: dirwin1965 <dirwin1965@...>low dose naltrexone Sent: Sat, June 12, 2010 3:15:39 PMSubject: [low dose naltrexone] ldn and macular degeneration

I have been using ldn for crohn's since last Oct. and am doing great! My mom has been diagnosed with macular degeneration and I was wondering if anyone has had success using ldn for that. We are also using it on her elderly dog with major liver problem and she is acting like a young dog again, eating playing etc. Thank you!

Hi Diane

In 2004 when my optho found the drusen I asked whether it was wet or dry and she

said it was " early " . She gave me anti inflammatory eye drops (that I stopped

once I'd understood what they are and was on LDN) and Nutrof Total. (I'm in

France by the way).

A complication was that the optho went private in 2004 and I was afraid I

couldn't afford her, so went to others. Neither of them are as good as she is so

I went back to her last month. She seemed satisfied with what she saw. I told

her what happened in 2008 and how it improved after LDN but it didn't seem to

register.

I started on 1.5, after a week when nothing happened, I went to 3, then about a

month later to 4.5 which seems good for me.

I've also have a blood disorder (platelet proliferation) and was being

prescribed 160mg aspirin a day. I stopped that about 9 months ago to see if LDN

would do a better job. Since then my blood counts are more stable. I have to see

the haemo this afternoon for my annual checkup and tell him, but he'll have seen

the test results too so I hope he doesn't tell me off.

I hope the doctor prescribes LDN for your mum - it's certainly worth a try.

Margaret
