Guest guest
whatever LDN info you collect and organize for that purpose could be valuable for others to use to encourage their docs to Rx LDN. i'd appreciate a copy. various info collections for various purposes along with well written letters to use in whole or part or just for ideas should be available in the Files area of LDN groups. the package i just put together is unfortunately pretty primitive and wouldn't be much of a starter for that. my mom is on the other coast, and her GP is the only of her docs that had any possibility of prescribing LDN and his response to my letter to him is to retire and pass his practice to another. now we don't know yet if the new doc and ma will even get along.... she isn't exactly the easiest if she takes the slightest dislike for any real or imaginary reason... he mind is going fast and the new doc won't even be available for a first appointment unt6il july 1. while i now have medical power of attorney, and her judgment is impaired, i'm not about to try to make her do something like take a med that i get for her from a phone consult with a doc she never met. she's incapable of doing for herself. we're on opposite coasts. i cannot be there anytime soon. LDN is the best shot she got. i have sent the new doc a letter as the first page of a 3-ring binder with about 50 pages of LDN info. tried to select good stuff a doc might actually consider, as well as various list members comments who have had success with LDN on the same conditions she has to deal with. all geared toward getting him to further research on his own. i could buy her naltrexone, a little bottle and baby med spoon, and instructions for use... she wouldn't do it. too scary for her AND for me without one of her docs Rx'ing it. if that changes, she couldn't do it herself as she's going blind with ARMD (that might improve from LDN). her ex is theire to help, but i can't even get him to go out to the garage and open a box to get her a tin of tea i sent for her... been months working on that. he's either losing it himself while at the same time she doesn't remember about it for more than 2 minutes, or he, or she, or both maybe suspect i might be trying to get her to take something bad to go after her money? she and her ex are pretty paranoic suspicious types largely for good reason... i am too. if she were to die or get worse off for any reason and it was found she was taking LDN that i had obtained illegally i could be subject to criminal prosecution. there is nobody there to be trusted, really. the fact is my only best shot at an inheritance is to keep her alive and healthy and happy another decade until the mortgage and a few other bills are paid off. if she dies or goes into a nursing home (which she sure doesn't want anything to do with of course) the bank would never allow me to assume the balance of the mortgage and i couldn't pay it if they did. so the bank would just take the place and sell it at their convenience for whatever amount they choose to accept, take exhorbitant fees off the top, and i'd get the rest less whatever expense compensation goes to executor of her trust. so anyways, i gotta get her new doc on board. failing that i gotta get her hooked up with a doc near her that has the brains and balls to give her LDN. it would probably be better if i had the money and time and connections to go out there and make it clear to the new doc that if he didn't just get his stuff together and cooperate i'd have him dismembered and dumped in san pedro harbor to die floating with the beer cans and condoms. Thanks for the invite. It will be nice to be in a group where I am not picked at constantly. I do have two people that I met on ldn who are actually on 4.5mg twice a day. The information they relied on was found under the Q & A section of ldnscience.org. They are both doing well, but I cannot say that I would try that as I am sensitive to meds and am having a hard enough time just inching up from .5 to 3mg. I do intend to inch toward 4.5 in the fall, but right now I am busy helping my doctor get her hands on the research that has been done on ldn so she can "cover her butt" in terms of medical associations coming after docs in North Carolina who are into holistic medicine. I am her guinea pig (I begged her to write me a script). She has both tons of patients asking for it and tons of patients that she would like to prescribe it for. Yay!
