Guest guest
, If you don't mind me asking, how high has yours been, mine is 141, when I am fasting. Of course that is a test done by quest labs, I don't exactly know how accurate they are, I have heard some bad things...eve
Guest guest
High blood sugar levels is very commong for just about anyone these days. With our modern diets of processed grains and sugary foods. Diet is most likely the cause but needs to be addressed no matter what caused it. Eating a low glycemic diet will help alot. eve wrote: > Has anyone experienced a raise in their blood sugar levels since > getting lyme. I have never had my sugar become high? Guest guest
Hi Eve, I use a blood glucose monitor to check on my blood sugar levels so it wouldn't be comparable to your test. My measurements are in mmol/L and I test before I eat and then after. If you are having a lot of problems with your blood sugar you may want to look into doing this. There are a great deal of diet changes you can make as well that could make a huge difference to your blood sugar levels. I hope this is helpful to you. best wishes, Re: [ ] high blood sugar , If you don't mind me asking, how high has yours been, mine is 141, when I am fasting. I believe it should be below 100.......seems like you might have some sugar issues. Conniek
Guest guest
I would beware of diabetic meds. The " side effects " can include kidney failure, heart attack, and liver failure. Many of the so-called " diabetic complications are really complications arising from diabetic meds. I would suggest looking into books on Leptin, looking in to herbs for blood sugar control, and doing what you can to remove all non-fiber carbs, all unhealthy oils, all processed meats (hot dogs, balony, bacon, etc.) and all pre-packaged or canned foods. My blood sugar is higher when I cannot get grass fed beef, because omega 3 is better than omega 6 and grain fed animals are very high in omega 6. Guest guest
I hope you don't feel like I am coming down on you like a ton of bricks but since I have two out of the three things you have I am going to speak up ! I am hypothyroid, have adrenal exhaustion, fibromyalgia and silent celiac disease. You weigh too much, which you already know, but it is contributing to your cascading health problems. In this country we have been inundated with commercials for " fiber " and " good carbs " so unless you share what your diet is specifically I don't know for sure whether you are sabotaging yourself by thinking you are eating healthy when it may not be good for you. These are the lessons I have learned... the combination of sugar and starches are my enemy weight wise. My alternative Doctor has been helping me with my health issues but we made a giant leap forward when he suggested that I deep-six wheat, rye, barley, oats, etc. Take a look at this site to get a more in depth idea of which grains are OK. Corn is OK on this list but a no-go for me because it is a starch/sugar combination. Rice is on the OK list but unless it is wild it makes me gain weight. www.csaceliacs.org/gluten_grains.php Grains on the celiac " avoid " list I also must avoid to keep my fibromyalgia pain level down and avoiding corn and regular rice, even brown rice, keeps my weight down. What kind of exercise do you do ? If you still have adrenal exhaustion doing anything more than walking 20 minutes a day will make you worse in the long run... it's stressful to your adrenals. There are three steps to Type 2 Diabetes...Glucose Disregulation/hypoglycemia then Insulin Resistance and then Type 2 Diabetes. You are a pre-Type 2 Diabetic if you have PCOS... it's part of the syndrome. It is excellent that you are taking the coconut oil... but space it out throughout the day. Cook your eggs and meat in it, add it to your teas, and use it on your skin. I would suggest that like me you need to avoid all fruit until your weight comes off. Then just have it as a treat on special occasions like Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc. and never eat it on an empty stomach, always have it with a fat like coconut oil, heavy cream with no thickeners (like carageenan, guar gum, xatham gum, etc.), butter, etc. No potatoes until the weight comes off and then only the red new potatoes on special occasions. I basically just eat non starchy vegetables, meat, fish and fats and 50 of the excess 75 pounds I have had have melted off me so far and it still is coming off. I had to do a lot of soul searching and mourning as I cannot have the foods that others eat so freely and seemingly without consequences. I have vastly improved the quality of the food I eat... grass fed beef, free range poultry, wild fish, cultured butter, cod liver oil, free range eggs, local and in-season produce as much as possible, learning to cook with all different spices, etc. Because I am eating such good quality fat I am satiated so I merely have to fight the psychological lust for things that will make me gain weight or make my pain levels go up... pretty good motivation to stay on the straight and narrow ! I hope some of the things I have shared help you. Do everything you can to not go on the medications... they will just add to your woes. > > I am taking coconut oil every morning, about 3 tablespoons, eating > low carb (under 40 net carbs per day since 8/14/08) and my fasting > blood sugar is still too high according to my doc (it was 156 this > a.m.) > > When I see her this week I have a feeling she may want me to go on > meds. > > I am wondering what I should do. > > Also, although I have been struggling with my weight and weigh 237 > which is about 45-50 lbs over what I should weigh at 6'1 " tall (and > I am hypothyroid, have adrenal exhaustion and PCOS), I exercise > regularly, have low blood pressure and good cholesterol and am > otherwise healthy. > > I guess I should go lower carb and maybe up the coconut oil and see > if that helps the blood sugar. Guest guest
Yes, I agree... don't go low calorie... that will stress your adrenals even more. Try halving your carbs instead. You are doing so very well with the quality of your food ! Good for you !!! Where do your 40 net carbs come from ? Fit day is great isn't it ? Yes, sounds like wheat is not your friend either ! They say celiac sufferers have a high percentage with genes from Ireland, Italy, Finland, Austria, and Sweden. > > > > I am taking coconut oil every morning, about 3 tablespoons, eating > > low carb (under 40 net carbs per day since 8/14/08) and my fasting > > blood sugar is still too high according to my doc (it was 156 this > > a.m.) > > > > When I see her this week I have a feeling she may want me to go on > > meds. > > > > I am wondering what I should do. > > > > Also, although I have been struggling with my weight and weigh 237 > > which is about 45-50 lbs over what I should weigh at 6'1 " tall (and > > I am hypothyroid, have adrenal exhaustion and PCOS), I exercise > > regularly, have low blood pressure and good cholesterol and am > > otherwise healthy. > > > > I guess I should go lower carb and maybe up the coconut oil and see > > if that helps the blood sugar. Guest guest
Metanoiagal, Have you added any Adrenal support to your daily program? It's possible this is the missing link that can help you sleep better as well as other important functions. I prefer the products by Premier Research Labs headed by Dr. Bob Marshall. To read about their Adrenal Complex, check out this site: http://www.phpure.com/q_nutrition_products.htm I have thyroid as well as several other issues and have found that adding the adrenal support has made a huge difference. I use several things from Premier Research Labs. Blessings,

Guest guest
FYI-My doctor has me on something called Adrenal C and also something called Adrenal Rebuilder made by Future Formulations. They have both helped a lot--my levels are getting better with each test we do, are non-prescription supplements (no she doesn't sell anything) and you can find them on the internet.  Marie > > > > Metanoiagal, > > Have you added any Adrenal support to your daily program? Guest guest
Thanks, I will check into it. I have 2 friends with it and one went undiagnosed for years and it ruined his joints. He has had 5 hip replacements! > Thanks, I was a vegetarian for about 12 years as a kid and was terribly low iron and anemic. Guest guest
Oh my goodness... our symptoms are so similar. How many times had I thought to myself that I felt like I was 90 ( I am 55 ! ) I also take Priority One Enzy-Gest which is digestive enzymes plus Betaine HCL. Lots of people our age experience lower levels of hydrochloric acid in our stomachs which lessens our ability to absorb our nutrients. Maybe getting alkaline may not be the best thing for you right now. Your body temperature being that low is not good for so many reasons but now I understand more of why your weight won't come off... your body is in emergency mode and is trying to protect itself from further damage. You must stop exercising so hard and give yourself and your body a break. You are pressing the accelerator and trying to make your vehicle ( your body ) go 55 mph when it can only go 30 mph. You are headed for adrenal depletion and a severe health crisis. Be more gentle with yourself until you get better ! This is very serious ! > > > > > > > > I hope you don't feel like I am coming down on you > > > > like a ton of bricks but since I have two out of the > > > > three things you have I am going to speak up ! > > > > I am hypothyroid, have adrenal exhaustion, > > > > fibromyalgia and silent celiac disease. Guest guest
I take Future Formulations Adrenal Rebuilder too ! I tried melatonin supplements and they never did a thing for me... The Pineal Plus and the AdrenaCalm have been a godsend. When the adrenals suffer by being on high alert too long everything " downsteam " suffers... hence the thyroid starting to falter too. > > > > > > > > > Metanoiagal, > > > > Have you added any Adrenal support to your daily program? Guest guest
Thanks to all for recommending so many products. I will check them out! About a year or so ago I was researching information from vitality101.com, by Dr. Teitelbaum MD, concerning extreme fatigue. I tried several of his products but did not notice any difference. Perhaps I didn't take them long enough or perhaps I am expecting changes too quickly. In any case, I stopped taking them. I just recently began taking what was left those products since the adrenal/thyroid issues have surfaced again via these wonderful posts! So YES I have been around this mountain before! Perhaps I shall be circling this mountain until I finally 'get it' and get victory and success. NEVER GIVE UP, I say! > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Metanoiagal, > > > > > > Have you added any Adrenal support to your daily program? Guest guest
I think what you two might be looking for is an anti-aging program. I've done it for a couple of years and I am very vigorous for my age; at 54 I am in better shape than I was in my early 40's. My wife after just 10 months on it is mistaken for a 31-year old at 47 Data here; look at the list of benefits most people see, and especially look into the research that used HGH therapy against " age- related " and diabetes related diseases: http://members.shaw.ca/SomaLife-gHP Duncan > > > > > > > > > > I hope you don't feel like I am coming down on you > > > > > like a ton of bricks but since I have two out of the > > > > > three things you have I am going to speak up ! > > > > > I am hypothyroid, have adrenal exhaustion, > > > > > fibromyalgia and silent celiac disease. Guest guest
So where do you buy the Pineal Plus and AdrenaCalm? I need to find something that'll work! Guest guest
I bought them from my Chiropractor but I just checked and you can buy them online. The Atrium Pineal Plus will be about $17 and the Apex Energetics AdrenaCalm will be about $38, Adrenal Rebuilder for 150 tablets about $56. Keep the AdrenaCalm on your bedside. You can use it as many times you need during the night if you get any wakefulness. Just roll over, put a 1/4 teaspoon or fingernail dollop on another spot on your torso and fall back to sleep. My daughters' husband calls it " sleepytime cream " as he knows when she rubs it on that she will be asleep very soon. Your adrenals did not get stressed overnight and your healing will take some time. At my worst, even if someone just startled me I would flush, get hot and feel like I had electrical shocks coursing through my body. Now it happens very rarely. I would not advise that you actively try to lose weight. Let it come off naturally for the time being. Your body is in emergency mode and until you get some good quality and quantity of sleep your body is not going to release any fat... it's storing it because you are doing things that are telling your body to hold on and conserve because you are in danger. Take a nice, steady 20 minute walk... no race walking !!!... and enjoy the fresh air and sunshine. Relax !!! Let your adrenals heal !!! Actively cut your carbs to 20 a day and stop all fruit until you stabilize. No, you will not heal overnight. Yes, you are expecting too much. Your healings will come like little whispers, sometimes so barely perceptible that when they happen you say to yourself... hey, I just realized I am sleeping a lot better !, or my thinking is clearer !, etc. You are going to become a student of the subtle which will be hard for you because you have been pushing yourself so hard for so long. I am so proud of you for not giving up ! I hope you will keep us abreast of your healing... because it can happen if you let it... but it won't come without some sacrifice. I had to give up on having an immaculate house... I have to keep on a schedule... I have to stop when I feel stressed... no more " pushing through it " because my thyroid usually swells and makes me feel like I am choking if I've done anything physical for too long...those sort of things. Only my best to you !!! > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Metanoiagal, > > > > > > > > > > > > Have you added any Adrenal support to your daily program? Guest guest
Wow, thanks so much for all that information AND for the encouragement, guidance and HOPE! Do you think I should try these products all at once or do one for awhile then add another? I was thinking of trying the cream first. I also do progesterone cream and have done that for years. I agree with what you said. The excess fat is a SYMPTOM of overall unhealth so my focus should be on overall restoration of complete health, THEN the weight will balance out again. At least that's my theory and only time will prove it true or not. Yes, I believe the excess fat is a PROTECTIVE thing that my body is doing. What amazingly designed creatures we are! I'm am also beginning to believe it's tied to emotional/mental balance too. The brain fog, memory loss, emotional outbursts, over reacting to things, irritability, depression, etc., have to be the result of overall poor health! I mean, the brain IS part of the body! It could be others things too, but overall, a healthy person, it seems to me, should be able to 'roll with the punches' of life and 'deal with problems' in a healthy manner. Before I began my quest for health and balance, I 'coped' with life with smokes, drugs, relationships, booze, sweets, etc., for over 30 years! I am hoping a healthy body will also mean a healthy mind too. It is sure worth the effort! Not sure why I went down that rabbit trail, but for some reason, it's been on my mind lately and I guess I wanted feedback. Trying to solve the puzzle, as it were. Thanks again! You are a dear! Bless you! > > > > So where do you buy the Pineal Plus and AdrenaCalm? I need to find > > something that'll work! Guest guest
Oh my goodness !!! It has been my privilege and pleasure ! I am coming out of such a dark hole myself that when I see someone I think might be sinking with a millstone around their neck I cannot do anything but put my hand out and tell them hold on... let me help you take the millstone from around your neck... I 've been where you are heading and I can't bear to see you go there ! Yes, I do think you should do all that I have suggested at once as the things I have shared with you are mainly glandulars as opposed to supplements, per se. Stay on the progesterone. The more I have learned about nutrition the more I have learned that the body is an amazing and intricate and community sort of entity. The Bible says that the body ( community ) of Christ is like the body and there is not one part that is not needed... even the unseemly and hidden parts of our body ! That is so beautiful to me !!! When one organ or gland is unable to do it's job other organs or glands will come in, slow down all the bodys' processes, reroute and make do... for a time . But it can't do that long term without dire consequences. So, back to you and how you are doing... with what you have decided to do you are not going to be almost bedridden like I was. You need to realize that and be thankful. Again, you're going to have to be patient but as they say " Patience is a virtue " so you are going to end up being virtuous too !!! You have made a very important discovery about the physical, emotional and spiritual components of our being and life. When the time comes and your body starts shedding fat you will go through some more " unexplained " issues because there are not only toxins in your fat but there are stuck emotions in there too... but to be forewarned is to be forearmed. If you know it's coming you won't be taken by surprise or alarmed ! It's just part of detoxing the old and bringing in the positive new ! You have not gone down a rabbit hole at all... you are making some new discoveries about yourself ! I heard someone say that denial is a thief and rationalization is his partner in crime... you are beginning to do some deep soul searching and realizing some of the things you did to yourself were hurtful and detrimental in a lot of ways. It's not the end of the world, though ! It's the beginning of a bright new future !!! You can't change the past... you can only live in the present and do the best you can to try and insure that tomorrow will be better and you are doing just that !!! I am SO excited for you !!! > > > > > > So where do you buy the Pineal Plus and AdrenaCalm? I need to find > > > something that'll work! Guest guest
You are SO helpful to me and it's exactly the time when I needed the information AND the encouragement! Gotta be a God thing! Well, yesterday I ordered the Adrenal Calm and Adrenal Rebuilder. I found them both at a company in WI so it should be here quickly. I hope it helps! It was hard to find. Last night I tried two melatonin instead of my xanax and it didn't help at all. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Even at it's best, I wake up often during the night. The xanax is only slightly better tho, and so much worse for the body. But lack of sleep is worse than all that! I agree totally with your analogy of our bodies to the body of Christ. I would say that is probably why we are created and designed the way we are. All of creation reflects the glory of God to His creations if we only have eyes to see it. I am still considering your suggestion about going to 20 carbs and no fruit. Reminds me of Phase 1 Atkins. It was VERY tough to do! But I will continue to think it over. I suppose I could try it for a week or two if I can stand it that long! HA. Thanks for being such a blessing!! > > > > > > > > So where do you buy the Pineal Plus and AdrenaCalm? Guest guest
Yes Ann I have. Also have tried 5 HTP, lemon balm, hops, Bach's flower remedy, Calm's forte, teas, drugs, lavender, calcium/magnesium, EFT, eye mask, soft music, etc. Melatonin never had THAT much effect either on me, but it worked better than the rest did. I also have to have a fan blowing on me all night otherwise I get too hot, even in the winter with the window open! Must be the 100 lbs of extra padding on me! ha. Two years ago I had to fly from Indiana to Washington after my dad died and I HATE to fly. Since I had given up alcohol in 1997, I decided I'd take some valerian root instead as I had a layover in Denver. It was in Oct. and a snow storm was moving in behind us in Denver so the ride IN and OUT was very bumpy! By the time I landed in Seattle, I had taken about 40 valerian root and it didn't even make a dent. I took the TRAIN home! My doc did give me Ambien once but after reading the side effects I never took it. Didn't like the idea of driving or eating while asleep!! EEEKKK!! > > > > > > > > > > So where do you buy the Pineal Plus and AdrenaCalm? I need to > > find > > > > > something that'll work!
