Guest guest
I don't believe Igenex is questionable, but the limited experience I've had with Lyme has shown me that many in the medical field look at Igenex as " outside the norm " . Even the doctor's office who drew my blood for the Igenex test told me that Igenex is AMA approved - just in case other doctor's question their validity. My Lyme doctor told me he knew of people who did not have Lyme, but had positive results from Igenex - I didn't push him to elaborate. I'll wait until I'm well enough to debate, then give him some education. I personally believe that Igenex is accurate, and it's many of the other labs that are inaccurate. Many of the other labs have a very high level to reach before showing a WB as Lyme positive - not sure if this is influenced by insurance companies, or faulty testing. Igenex has a lower threshold for a WB positive. Guest guest
Tom, So glad the appointment went well and that you're receiving treatment! Hope the die-off isn't too bad. Don't be surprised if you run a low-grade fever and feel yucky. Beth
Guest guest
Some poorly informed docs think Igenex has too many false positives. Little do they know they aren't false....rather that this condition is ALL over the place. Re: [ ] I Had My Specialist Appointment - Treatment Why did he say igenex is questionable? Guest guest
Glad you are getting treatment, but reading your account had alarm bells going off in my mind. Making you mad to see if you were serious about Lyme? How bizarre and unprofessional. My feeling is that a patient in your situation should accept treatment from an obviously non-LLMD to the extent that it works and is continued long enough. Likewise for co-infections. Most doctors don't even look for them. However, the time may come when you have to go elsewhere. Hope not, but that is what it sounds like to me.
