Guest guest
What an interesting question. My son was treated for LD in 2000 for about one year. Now there is a problem with his thyroid blood tests. Not exactly hyper or hypo, but pdoc said results were all over the place. Having test redone to confirm if it was just a fluke or not. Guest guest
HI: I have developed Hashimoto's thyroiditid, goiters and borderline hypothyroidism. This I believe all results from the lyme. I have also heard of people in my lyme support group who have developed hyperthyroidism like you. Laynie
Guest guest
I have Hashimoto's but I don't know if I can blame all of it on lyme. It runs in my family. I am on medication and have had good test results for yrs, no problems if I stay on thyroid meds. To dx Hashimoto's, it take a different blood test than the reg. TSH, T3, T4 test. They have to run a ANA blood test, that is why some times the docs miss the Hashimoto's. Sally Avery <Lymies3@...> wrote: What an interesting question. Guest guest
There have been studies linking thyroid and lyme. I was diagnosed with hyper=thyroidism in 1990 with all sorts of problems. My thyroid was oblated and now of course I am hypo thyroid. In 1998 I was diagnosed with lyme and have been suffering ever since. There are some LLMD who think I have actually had the lyme since I was diagnosed with the thyroid problems. Hope this is of some help. Kim
