The highs were great but the lows were very bad. I have since been off all junk food (have not yet been able to eliminate corn chips) no soda pop no candy. Any cravings for sweets is addressed with fruit. = I want to also say that I had cut sugar, soda and junk foods out of my diet years ago due to noticing a relationship between my issues being worse when eating those items... I also stopped eating FAST FOODS / too many chemicals & preservatives... this was way back when in response to my health issues... which I did not know were lyme at the time... so I think after hearing others say the same thing " I stopped eating sugar " that it is the bodys natural response... that we all felt the same way - to stop sugars - as we all noticed the correlation on our own.... celia in vermont

The Doc's think she has had for a while because of a high Titer (sp?) reading. She is having trouble with her back and spine and is hard for her to be in light. She suffers headaches everyday and is unable to do all the things she loves to do. Is meningitis part of Lyme's? This is one of her Doc's concern and we will see her Doc today to see what she thinks. My heart is just breaking for her. She also has had a huge increase in weight, high blood pressure and increased heart rate. I have heard some really horrible stories and am scared as anything for her. Can someone tell me what we are in store for and what I sould watch out for. Thank's Sue in Md. HELLO I am sorry to hear of your daughter feeling so unwell... I can only say that everyone seems to have different 'things in store " but as long as your doc is treating her properly there is good chance she will recover fine... you need to do your homework and research and challenge anything you think is not working etc... be persistent. I am having major problems with the head/neck and " 'meningitis " " type of issues, so yes this would probably be related. I also suffer with head pain from it and as a teen had long lasting migraines (days). Her diet and resting are things you can help control... and cut out salty foods if blood pressure/water retention is a problem. (i held water and swelled A LOT as a teen but was underweight) I wish you the best and work with your doctor and tell her to hang in there it will get better... also maybe someone knows of a teen lyme group on the net or local to you that may help her deal with not being able to do the things teens like to do.... celia in vermont

The tick must stay attached to the person's skin for 2 days for infection to occur. " I wonder how they come up with that as most people remove a tick when they find it and do not know how long it was there... and my husband had no tick on his belly in the morning and found it that night when he undressed... and the next day already had the rash .... and got treated... but we know FOR A FACT that tick was on only about 6-10 hours... max... so I do not believe that... they also say if the tick is squeezed it can force stuff into you. -Celia in vermont
Guest guest
Yes, There is a Lyme Meningitis. People panic when they hear that word, Meningitis, there are different forms and the basis is swelling of the Brain casing, or meninges (sp?) I get that h/a when on tx and there is no pain worse as there is nothing, at all, that can be done , other than to take something to make you sleep. I feel bad for your daughter, poor thing Teenager with Lyme's > > My 14 yr old daughter has tested positive for Lyme's.
