Yes, that is possible. There is thought in the Lyme Community that Lyme 'may' be sexually transmitted, but no absolute proof. They have found the Lyme bacterium in Semen, Blood and vaginal fluid and mothers can/do pass it along to babies. Most people never recall a tick bite and even fewer get 'the rash'. My husband also tested ++ but he has yet to ever have symptoms. Did he get it from me? Maybe. But, more likely he got it from the same place I got mine. We also have a dog and had a horse with it. Get your kids tested. Then go from there whether to treat etc. Best of luck!
Guest guest
I was bitten by a tick in the Medford, Oregon, area in the late 1980s and got Lyme (though I was only recently diagnosed). I was talking to a very good friend of mine who still lives in Medford and is a veterinarian. I told her about having Lyme, and she wasn't surprised, saying she treats dogs for Lyme " all the time. " I think it's more wide spread than is currently believed. Dana Re: [ ] does lyme run in the family? > So, here's the question. Guest guest
Well Cyntha, I am glad to hear once more from you. This life is a journey and it brings so much pain to see our children suffering from this illness. I am certain that somewhere an enlightened soul is working the midnight oil to find a way to help us and it will come, I know that. What you say about lyme transmission is hinted to in publications so I imagine it makes scientific sense, however sad it is to see our families suffering so. You are in my prayers as I have listened over these years to your long journey. I am also on this journey, however far away we are so you will never be alone. But I believe in hope and I have seen miracles happen so I await these times. Best wishes, Donna
Guest guest
I really believe it can through several ways but I won't bring up all of them cause one especially brings some hair raising here. I do know that you can definately pass it through utero. All three of my daughters have gotten it from me their mother. I don't really know the percentage in that so I can't quote it...all I know is our family has had the bad run of luck as of lately. We believe my husband has it to. He has a lot of the symptoms but can work and do many activities. Sorry that I may be the bearer of bad news...and excuse the spelling...my mind is going through that really bad phase right now...can't even help my children much with their homework...it is pretty sad since I was pretty smart in school.
