Guest guest
Awww Ang I so know how you feel, I wish there was a magic potion for us, but there isn't. All I can suggest is gentle stretching on your own, something like Yoga. Meds is another option, do you have a pain Dr or a Dr that will rx you something? Of all the meds I have been on, and there have been oooodles, Tizanadine, Oxycontin( at first) and Neurontin have helped the most. Best of luck , gentle hugs,
Guest guest
I have a few suggestions: 1) fomentek bags (I think it's www.fomentek.com but just google the word " fomentek " ). 2) magnesium in IV or IM (not oral). Magnesium is brilliant for helping muscles in spasm relax--the NY Times just ran an article about how it can prevent/treat migraines, PMS, asthma (the bronchial spasms) etc. That's stuff that is already widely known but nice to see in the NY TImes. You need to probably find a holistic doc who will do this. You can be taught to self administer IM injections, though they do sting a bit. Guest guest
I have experienced this same thing and it has lasted for weeks at a time. If I lay down I am stuck in a position unless huband helps me out of it. Its dibilitating. Sometimes I received cortizoid shots in back/shoulder area and other times muscle relaxers. This is only my experience. I do know that magnesium deficiency will cause our muscles to stiffen and people with LD usually feel better taking magnesium malate. Have you seen a neurologist? I am sorry you are going through this. It feels like your head weighs 100lbs and it is exhausting. Hope this helps Cierra > Hello, > My muscles around my lower neck out to my shoulders and back are so > tight you can not even get them massaged... the chiropractor can not > help and neither can the massage therapist... has anyone had any > relief... or can suggest anything... saunas do not work... and hot > tubs work okay but, I don't have one and the one at the gym is > upstairs so when I get out I start crying and shaking because I am > so exaugsted from the experience of finally relaxing for a few > minutes..I can not use the stairs... it is so strange not even when > sleeping or trying relaxation therapy works... you can not even dig > your fingers down into the muscle it is so tight... Guest guest
Something that I have found helpful for my tight neck muscles... When I am ready to go to bed at night I first use a warming oil like sesame or tiger balm and then I have one of those microwaveable buckwheat neck wraps. (the ones that are flat). I go to bed with this around my neck. It eventually falls off during the night, but mostly flat, so then it acts like a cervical pillow. My neck muscles are able to relax more at night this way. They are still tight, but not nearly as sore. Peace, Morningsong
