Guest guest
I, too, thought I was allergic to antibiotics for years and wouldn't take them when the docs precribed them. Now, I know why. K
Guest guest
and within the first week I ended up in the emergency room with a possible negative reaction to the antibiotics, although I am not allergic to antibiotics, so??? He is concerned that something like this could happen again, although I have not had any problem on the Doxy, and I do not know what could have happened before. BINGO!!!!!!! That is called a Jerrisch-Herxheimer reaction. It is when the body is literally over run by dying bacterium ( Lyme) , it looks, for the most part, like an allergic reaction. It is how you know you have an active infection and/or are on the correct antibiotics. When you go on antibiotics for Lyme you have to start slowly, on a low dose so this doesn't happen. You can look up that , I think I spelled it right LOL www.lymnet.org is a great site
