Good question . I am interested to see what others have to say.

It took 18 months for dx at least. I have been on treatment for a year. I

still am very weak and notice that stress plays a big factor.

Hi Jessie:

I can say as one who has had Lyme for quite a while (5+1/2 years)

and doing much better (Thank God) that stress is my NUMBER ONE inducer of

symptoms. I soon as I allow myself (or choose) to entertain anything that

is negative or but into stress that is around me or get stressed about any

situation (especially about the future that doesn't exist yet!!) then I am

in hot water. This has happened to me so many times that I am now quite

aware of this reality. Therefore I am ever WATCHFUL (like a guard at the

gates of my mind and emotions) protecting myself and being as positive as

possible. I also am trying to practice turning all things I would become

worried about over to God (or what higher/inner reality you want to name)

after I have done everything I can do about it. I don't carry these

burdens around with me any more.

You are not stuck with it forever - but try to remember and practice that

you yourself are the advocate for your wellness - others will do their best

for you - but you must also be on your own side all the time.

Stress wrecks havoc on the good bacteria of the intestinal tract.

Targeting the destruction of lyme is probably most important but it

is also important to focus on restoring health of the the good

bacteria to the GI tract.

Anyone on an antibiotics program to kill lyme should (IMO) also be

including probiotics and good fermented foods in the diet to help

restore the good bacteria, as these too are being negatively affected

by antibiotics.

All the best,

Jim

That will change once the lyme is gone and you are off the drugs.

It happened to me when I was done with years of medication.

As your body repairs, and rebuilds, you'll find that you can do more and

will be able to hand the daily mental and physical stress of life.

Stay positive,
