Guest guest
Kathie, I, too, have had difficulty with finding caring doctors and being told that it doesn't matter what the lyme tests say because of false positives. Go figure. I am not sure what to do to have some of these doctors reconsider and relearn.

Guest guest
That's disgusting. I've had lots of experiences like that. It sounds like willful ignorance to me. Her logic must be: If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it must be a zebra. Why were you seeing her anyway? > Well, I had my first visit with a Rheumatologist on Friday. She > blew off the positive blood test. Avtually waved her hand in front > of her face and said " yea, you get false positives " I told her that > I wanted her to do a more in depth test then and they took my blood > for the Western blot test. She basically said " you have > fibromyalgia, here's a RX for muscle relaxers, you just need a good > night's sleep " . AAAHHHH!!!!! > > Anyway, here is the best part...you will LOVE this. As she was > walking out of the exam room, she looked back at me and said " but > you look great! " > > It's a good thing I didn't feel great or she would have been exiting > the room with a size 6 attached to her hiney. I think I will wait > and see what the blood test results are and then make an appt with > the LLMD that the Lyme Association called me with. I'll let you all > know. > > Kathie
Guest guest
Hello 1/22/04, In reference to your comment: è I didn't have the surgery and a couple days later, the è pain had already left my wrist and moved to another è area. After reporting the doc to my insurance è company, they refused to allow me to see an LLMD. è They stuck me with every low-profile doctor they had è on their scum list. *****Here in Arizona you can file a grievance and will have to see the 2nd doctor at the request of insurance company, BUT if you are still not happy with the 2nd doctor you can, BY LAW, get a referral for " out of service area " doctor. *****I know this works because I have " fired " at least 5 docs within the medicaid system. (here in Arizona) I fired the Thoracic surgeon, the Breast Surgeon, Dermatologists, and a few others. I refused to see another Thoracic surgeon within the system and I found me a better one outside of the system. I then had my PCP write out a referral. At first he hesitated and I looked him right in the eye and told him we could do it the easy way or hard way, BUT I was going to get the referral approved. LOL He knew I meant business and was well aware of all the doctors I have fired within the medicaid system.....I had already spoken to the Dept of Insurance director and gotten the process of complaint, which isn't something that ANY insurance company likes to comply with. *****As Carol Kerr stated in a post, STAND UP FOR YOUR RIGHTS AND RAISE HELL..... " the squeeky wheel gets the grease!! " Do NOT accept shotty patient care!! Keep a smile on your face, love in your heart and walk with the angels, holding hand in the " chain of love " ......
