Guest guest
Dr. Shoemaker's test from Laboratory Corporation of America is a genetic test to determine if one lacks something to help detoxify from the mold toxins. It isn't an allergy test. I didn't test as having the genetic defect, but my husband did. Ironically, my husband is not bothered by mold. He works around mold in attics and basements running network cabling for computer systems and also remodeled our bathroom, which had these plastic tiles on the walls, and underneath the tiles it was covered almost solid with mold on the walls. He was able to do that without having any increase of problems at all. Me on the other hand, I didn't test as having the genetic defect, (rather I tested as having a gene that he says he only sees in chronic Lyme patients) but I do have major problems with mold. It makes all my symptoms flare up, and I seem to have a problem reducing the symptoms once they flare, which I would assume would mean that I'm not getting rid of the toxins very well. I also break out in hives and have asthma around mold. And I was miserable when we were tearing out the sheetrock from the bathroom, even though we have a whole house hepa filter with ultraviolet sterilizing light, and an oversized hepa filter in my bedroom, where I holed up, and tried to avoid breathing as much as possible, and wheezed, and coughed, and was miserable for days afterwards. I have tested as having an allergy to mold, and I've also been muscle tested for mold by my BioSET practitioner and found to have a problem with it energetically that we haven't been able to clear completely. So I think there is a flaw somewhere in Dr. Shoemaker's testing somehow. My husband, who tested as having a problem with mold, doesn't have a problem with mold that we can tell. While he is dyslexic, and tested as having a problem with the VCS test, he otherwise doesn't have any neurotoxic symptoms at all, and is in generally a very healthy person. Aside from that, I think that Lyme can cause shifts in immune function, making one more prone to allergies. And also, the neurotoxins and increased waste products in the body compete with mold toxins for detoxification. So even if someone doesn't have the genetic characteristic that Dr. Shoemaker tests for, it is still possible to have a problem with mold. My naturopath gave me several different homeopathic products that are supposed to help improve detoxification from molds, but they didn't do a thing for me. My BioSET practitioner had me get air samples, and samples of the mold in my house (before we removed it when we remodeled) and made up a vibrational energy spray that I can spray around the house to help neutralize the energy signature of the mold. It does help a little, but I wish it wasn't water based, because I don't like adding anything to the environment that might encourage mold. lindaj@... Guest guest
Thank you all for such thoughtful answers. I really appreciate them. I learned so much from this group. It does make sense that Lyme could cause allergies to mold indirectly. I am also in the process of evaluating whole house air purification systems. I heard and read a lot about ozone air purifier, even from the new book called " Beating Lyme Disease " . But I still have some reservation about ozone. I have tried a 5 stage filtering system including UV light, it seems to work for my room for a while. But the negative ion generator from Sharper Image did not seem to work for me. For the whole house, ozone seems to be easier, but is it really safe? mei
Guest guest
Hello, I do not know if anyone answered you question... but, Dr. Shoemaker does not think CSM can cure lyme... he thinks that it removes the neurotoxins from the body... he thinks neurotoxins from diseased waters and fish can mimic lyme disease and if his patients do not test positive for lyme he has a test for vision contrast... so then he has a protocol for the neurotoxins.. I used to have a copy of his lyme treatment protocol... you take abx...and go on a bread free, rice free diet with the use a type 2 diabetic med... well, anyway I have read two of his books...you also have to take some sort of laxative or high fiber with the CSM... because it does constipate... I did take the CSM for a while and I think it cut down on my Herx like symptoms (not sure if it is a herx, so I will say herx like) but, the constipation was a problem... He does have a website chronicneurotoxins.com and he will answer emails and send you a copy of his lyme treatment protocol... Hope this helps, Take care, > > > I found messages in the archives where people discussed .
