Hi Ray,

You are having what is called a Hexheimer reaction which is actually a

good thing. Stay on the antibiotics if you can, but you may need to taper off

for a few days if you get super sick. A herx is when the bad little

spirochetes are being killed off and the toxins make you sick. So everytime you

get

one you will kill off more bacteria.

Ray,

make sure you drink plentey of water. Are you doing your IV every day or just

during the week and weekends off. Remember you killing those little buggers.

I don't think anyone really knows for sure what type of abx, how much and for

how long......to get rid of lyme.........this is so individualized.

What works for one person may not necessarily work for another.

I really believe that there are so many different strains of the bacteria that

it is a real hit or miss when choosing the right abx to get rid of it.

In fact I believe we can have more than one strain which may not all be killed

off by the same abx. I think that is why so many Drs. combine abx or switch to

different abx during treatment.
