Yes, when I got my lyme tests from Igenex, my doctor gave me the

kits to take to a lab, and in them, were instructions saying not to

draw on Thursday or Friday, because the blood has to be shipped 2nd

day air, and they are not open Sat and Sun. As far as tests from

other labs besides Igenex, I have no idea what there protocol is.

Thanks for responding. I know my LLMD uses Igenex, so I guess I

won't be able to get the blood drawn on the same day I have the

consultation. I'm really paranoid about this stuff -- I just don't

trust doctors and I want to make sure everything is perfect when I go

in there. I'm one of those " crazy " people who comes in with a 15

page document detailing my illness and wants to be fully prepared and

get my money's worth, and all that stuff that annoys the medical

profession ;-)

Lol, well more than likely you can just take the lyme kits and slip

and go to a lab on Monday. Hopefully your llmd will send you to a

specific one. My dr didnt, and I went around to 3 labs before I

felt confident that the lab techie new how to follow Igenex'

instructions. Or maybe your llmd does it in his office? Some do.

And...If your llmd is good, he will love your 15 page documents!

Good luck on Thursday, keep us posted.

[ ] question about Lyme tests

This Thursday I will be seeing an LLMD for the first time, to discuss

my case and get Lyme tests done. However, today I read somewhere

that Lyme tests should not be performed late in the week because then

the blood sits in the mail over the weekend and this can degrade the

antibodies and produce a false negative. Does anyone know if this is

true? I don't have a whole lot of money to waste on getting tests

that will be invalid anyway. Please let me know if you have any

information regarding this issue or if you know where I might be able

to find the answer.

Thanks,
