I was put on 100 mg of Imuran and 40 mg of pred to be weaned down to

10mg. I was feeling great and then I started running fevers of 103

plus and having severe joint and muscle pain. I thought I was

reducing the pred too fast but my doctor told me to immediately get

off the Imuran. I feel a bit better, just tired. . . .

, welcome to the group. You say Imuran wasn't working well for you. Have you and your doctor discussed an alternative drug, such as 6MP or CellCept? These work for some people who don't tolerate Imuran. Be sure your Prednisone is reduced very gradually, with the reduction monitored by blood tests. What sort of connective tissue problem do you have? Is it also an autoimmune disease? .

Gaynel, give Cliff our best wishes.

Ruth, good to hear from you again. Did the play and the costumes go well?

Luann, once again you have a lot to handle, and you always do it well.

Tony, you are incredibly compassionate and strong. I wish I were lucky enough to have you living next door. You take such good care of others; I'd like to repay the kindness you dispense so generously. You add sunshine to all our days.

My LLMD's advice and treatment has been abx maintenance just to get me

to FEEL better (after 16 years) and to be able to FUNCTION better. Along

with this, I take natural supplements. My morning pill routine is

pretty extensive. Until a cure comes along, I'll vote for this option.

It seems to keep the sudden onset of new symptoms at bay and keeps the

old, familiar ones on a more manageable level.

Plus, reducing stress has a major impact on overall health, as does

finding something -- so matter how small -- that you are passionate

about and spending some time focusing only on that passion. The

uplifting that happens from that experience reduces symptoms for me.

A healthy life-style (emotional, physical, and sprititual) also stacks

the scales in our favor! Also for those who are still drinking or eating

diet foods -- read the labels. Anything with Aspartame is horrendous

for our systems. http://panicattack.net/asp.htm

And avoid MSG. http://panicattack.net/msg.htm

And lastly, for anyone who has not read, " The Wounded Healer, " I

strongly suggest reading it. We are NOT alone -- though it often feels

that way -- on this journey through illness.

Blessings,

Great results :)

Debra IF I ate pasta I would chose Dreamfield , which tastes JUST LIKE REAL

PASTA! over any pasta with soy stuff in it.. Soy tastes awful! (not to

mention I am hypothyroid and cant eat it any ;) I have eaten dreamfields

when I want my carbs down low for a meal.
