Guest guest
Tom, Its hard to say how long those mean old herx's will last. Sometimes mine would last 3 weeks or more. Are you taking your doxy 7 days a week or are you pulsing. You might want to ask your Dr. and tell him how you feel. As far as your test goes I can't answer that. I have never had that test done. Drink lots and lots of water, it will help to remove some of the toxins in your body. Good Luck hope you will start to feel better. In addition to feeling like I have the flu almost ALL of the time, I now feel like I'm crawling out of my skin, and my RLS (restless leg syndrome) is driving me nuts. I cannot relax, most of the time. I'm sure it's the Doxy - I usually feel " better " before I take it. The few times I've exercised this past month, I've waited to take the morning dose of Doxy until after I exercised. I went to an antique show last Saturday (my first outing for a month) and I waited until I returned before taking the morning dose. The evening dose doesn't seem to bother me as much - unless I just sleep away the misery? Anyway, for those of us who've been on Doxy, how long does the herxing thing last? 1 month? 2 months? I can't bear to think I'm going to feel like this for 6 months! Also, I recently posted some information, but heard no response. My doctor sent me the results of my co-infections test - see results below. I have to look through my Lyme books (when I feel better - I've been extra SICK since Saturday night). I'll double check with the doctor, but first, does anyone know what the results for ehrlichia listed below mean? It sounds like I HAD ehrlichia - but it's now cured? Anyone else with Ehrlichia? The symptoms seem to be just like Lyme - I thought I read that no cure exists? I wonder how I had a " past infection " and was cured, if I never took the correct meds until recently? Maybe the test showed a past infection, and I still have the bacteria, but no current infection? the outside labs show- no antibody to anaplama or babesia. the antibody is positive to ehrlichia consistent with past infection. Enough for now...Tom
Guest guest
Me again...I take double doses of Doxy, 2 x daily, everyday, for the next 6 months. No pulsing. I've been in contact with the specialist via email, and have another appointment in a few weeks. I'm glad to get this mess treated - just getting frustrated with continuous ill feelings. One day at a time...Tom Re: [ ] How Long Is Herxing??? Tom, Its hard to say how long those mean old herx's will last. Sometimes mine would last 3 weeks or more. Guest guest
Tom, Sorry to tell you, but I've been on treatment since January (with a few months off here and there) and have been herxing the whole time. But I also have major yeast issues and the diflucan/sporanox could be compounding my die-off of the antibiotics. The month I took Flagyl I managed with no diflucan and felt better than ever. So.... hang in there!!!! I take hot (as hot as I can stand it) epson salt baths with baking soda and soak for 15-20 minutes (NO MORE). It wears me out so I do it at bedtime and drink lots of water before and after. I TRY every other day but it rarely works out that way. Also... I've been doing lymphatic massages and I cannot believe how much they help me. For about 30-45 minutes afterward I actually feel an absence of pain. They're expensive so I just had my last one I can get them for $50 which is good for a massage but out of my range. She spends a LOT of time around my neck and arms. May sound strange, but I can tell a difference afterward. I can't exercise to move my lymph yet, wish I could... Beth [ ] How Long Is Herxing??? Guest guest
This may sound stupid, but how can you tell if the pain you feel after a treatment is herxing? I get accupuncture every week and after it I get really bad lower back pain for about a day, is that herxing or is it something bad? If extreme heat is put on my back at the same time it is worse. I am confused...eve
