Guest guest
On or about Saturday, December 20, 2003 3:26 PM [GMT+1=CET], Ssadlermas@... <Ssadlermas@...> sprinkled letters onto the page, saying: > Foot pain is not a side-effect of Samento.... but it is a symptom of > lyme disease. So... here's a 'for instance'. My dad, no Lyme symptoms ever, takes a prophylactic dose of samento as myself and my mother have borreliosis. Increasing his dose of samento he developed severe foot pain. Decreasing the dose reduces it. I run the Samento Diaries page (http://tinyurl.co.uk/9aa4) and this is where samento users report NEW symptoms. Many users report foot pain NEVER experienced before. I have never been told I have Lyme, only borreliosis... (though I now know that my dx is reported to have a 99% probability). I cannot afford the LD tests because I can't work through disability. (27 years dxed with progressive acute motor and sensory axonal neuropathy - misdiagnosed GBS/CIDP). I HAD the foot pain. Samento reduced it to the point where I have had no pain meds for over 7 weeks. Now whilst I am prepared to believe that either there are borrelia carrying patients who reflect no symptoms, and that all persons may have a borrelia infection due to the possibilities of gestational and sexual infection (amongst others) I can see how it is possible that abx or samento (not an antibiotic but an immune-modulator) may exacerbate the symptoms of 'latent borreliosis' whilst being used. Is this an argument for NOT taking samento as a prophylactic? I have dramatically reduced my own dosage as I already have a multi-system disorder and cannot afford any more symptoms. I have 'quietened' keyboard-wise lately as I cannot type with my right hand due to a surge of 'arthralgia' and am considering stopping completely and returning to my original protocol where I had learned to live 'comfortably' with the disability. I can't do with another unnecessary symptom. And, yes... arthralgia is another Lyme one too. I still insist that samento produces many 'side-effects' including foot pain but has varying properties depending on the seriousness of length of illness. Best wishes, Kezzi. . .
