Guest guest
Hi Everyone, Here's the short tale. Hiked in the mountains on Thursday then between Friday night and Saturday night went from walking to calling 911, a mere 24 hours, unable to walk. Knees swollen beyond. Low grade fever. Unbelievable pain. Swollen glands right groin. Hands and wrists went while in the hospital. ID doc took one look at me in the ER, tapped my knees and said " Lyme " . Had been bitten by deer tick several weeks earlier but MD declined to treat(brought tick to office and was seen by a nurse not by an MD) as I did not have the bullseye rash though I did have the tick and know them well because I am in the woods daily. Pleaded that I am sole support of self and couldn't afford to get sick. Well, you can see what happened. ELISA and Western came back neg. Very high SED rate but neg for all other stuff. Tested for everything! Brutal headache, neck involved. Had been started on Doxy the morning before hospital (I went to urgent care as I was beginning to fall apart) and stayed on the full three week course without MD knowlege as they were sure it wasn't Lyme so didn't prescribe on discharge. I refused to not finish this ABT course. About a week into the doxy I had the most unusual and tremendous bursting feeling in my lower back and the back of my legs. Couldn't lay down or stand up for relief. It was overwhelming, neuro like. Made me cry. This went on episodically for a few days (3-4) then stopped. Put on prednisone very low dose d/t high sed rate. Done and see no big change. Still with random aching joints, neck pain, etc. Have heard of several similar cases that resolved after about 3- 4 months. Still think it's lyme and if so I imagine I am undertreated. What do you think?
Guest guest
My opinion, and it's only an opinion because you share many of my initial symptoms, is some form of borreliosis, most likely Lyme. Guest guest
Hi, Kezzi, I read your story. It is well done and I really appreciate your sharing of your experiences. I understand your initial symptoms..... Just Bradford microscope which diagnosed Lyme for you? Did you try EDS(electrodermal Screening) ever? I love to know more about how you were diagnosed. mei
