Guest guest
Hi!!!! Different theme now.I have been having strange things happening at bed time.I feel as though my heart misses a beat,I get all hot and flushed in my face, breathless and my heart seems to beat really fast.It makes me feel so nervous that I can't sleep, sort of like when you get a big fright.I haven't told anyone as I didn't want to worry them and I don't want to go to hospital.I nearly told one of the nurses that comes to do my IV but thought she would think I was a hypochondriac,or she would say it was just that I am nervous about the disease and noone knows anything about the disease over here.I thought it may have been that I was worrying about stuff but it happens when I am not thinking about Lyme at all.Has anyone had this???Is it dangerous???Should I tell someone???What is the treatment for this? Thanks Sue.

I am still on 7 & half grains of erfa up by one half grain as i felt i needed this. The problem is when i am going up stairs in the house my heart is racing and i have to sit down to recover. This is new ( had this years ago when untreated) I stopped Thyroxine so as to do tests as advised as my t4 was well above range. I say urgent as i go on holiday on Sunday and not sure if i should take extra Erfa , Iwas trying to wait it out so the test maybee more accurate but feel i need some help. Please advise . Guest guest
Hi , when you are taking natural thyroid extract, believe me, serum thyroid function tests are next to useless. This is because it has T3, the active thyroid hormone and it peaks in the blood a couple or so hours after taking it, so your free T3 level, if taken during that time, would show very high and if taken later in the day, would show much lower. It also has T2 and T1 in unspecified amounts which are also 'active'. T4 was obviously not converting to the active T3, that is why your free T4 level was so high, it was pooling in the blood with nowhere to go. You should now be dosing by how you feel and what your symptoms and signs are telling you. Are you taking your Erfa several times during the day? If not, try to do this. Some people set their alarm clock to wake them up as early as 4.30a.m. or 5.30a.m. so they can take their first dose then, and then take a second dose around 10a.m. - a third dose about 2.00p.m. - and a fourth dose about 6.p.m. This way, it stops too much T3 peaking in the blood all at once which can cause your present symptoms. Give it a go and see if that helps. What other medication are you taking and are you taking any iron or calcium because if you are, this must be taken at least 4 hours away from thyroid hormone is these bind to thyroid hormones. You might be suffering with low adrenal reserve which is stopping the thyroid hormone from being fully utilised at the cellular level and so it is 'pooling' in your blood, which again would give you similar symptoms. Take your temperature three times a day based on Dr Rind's temperature protocol - see http://www.drrind.com/therapies/metabolic-temperature-graph It certainly wouldn't do you any harm to order some Nutri Adrenal Extra and start taking these as this could help until you get back and can do the 24 hour salivary adrenal profile by Genova. Go to our web site www.tpa-uk.org.uk and click on FILES in the Menu, and then on the page that opens, click on 'Discounts and Tests and Supplements' and on that page, click on 'Nutri Ltd. and order the Nutri Adrenal Extra large bottle. If you do this by telephone and quote the TPA Reference Number (3057428) They will send this out by first class delivery and you will get 33% discount by being a member of TPA. Hope this helps.
