Guest guest
The Healing Institute I went to in Feb 2001 was The Optimum Health Institute in San Diego, CA. I stayed three weeks. Someone responded that it takes a lot of determination to go this route. But really after spending three weeks at the institute you feel so good you WANT to stay this way. They detox your taste buds so even a piece of celery taste incredibly good. The institute is church based so the fee's are very affordable, rooms and all food cost only 600.00-800.00 per week. After you stay as a paying guest for three weeks they offer you a missionary opportunity. I wrote and explained my situation (my LLMD believes I need to stay on abx for the rest of my life). they accepted my application but I must stay for three months. This will be very hard because I have four children ages 9-16. Yet I KNOW in my heart of hearts that this is my cure. I know this. I know this. I can't wait to go. I will keep in touch and let everyone know I am doing when I come home. I studied the IRS guidelines, and this is tax deductible. My husband put it into his employer's 125K fund and I was able to go tax free! All you need is a prescription from your LLMD and diagnosis. Oh, and in three weeks my cholesterol went from 283 to 189! Guest guest
Bernadette, For those of use to whom that kind of money is out of the question, would you share what they did to you? What did you learn that those of us who are less fortunate might incorporate into our lives. It would be an act of great generosity to many people. Guest guest
Bernadette, It was so nice of you to take the time to spell all of that out for us! Thanks so much for sharing -- it sounds fascinating to me. Are people there suffering from all types of illnesses? Thanks again for sharing, Judie
Guest guest
For with that kind of money??? Sorry about responding to this que.... I spent 2000 at the institute and got well. VERY WELL! After much pressure from the medical community I have dished out 15,000 this year! IV's after insurance is over $3000, oral abx after insurance is 1200.00 The institute for three weeks is only 1800.00 and then 1800 for an additional three months! Think about this, everything is included. I spend about 200.00 a week on groceries plus this would be tax free. This reduces the amount to less then 400.00 a week considering that I do not have to shop at home. For the first three weeks and then I actually save money for the next three months. To bring a child along cost only 50.00 for the whole week! I made appointments with the Doctor and had my blood run before I went and when I got home. Today from abx I am far worse off then back then. Seven CDC bands and positive WB. Before I had a non-symptomatic co-infection with negative Lyme. After only three weeks of this program! Anyway: The biggest key is fresh wheatgrass. Growing your own wheatgrass cost pennies. It is an amazing healer. I just read in a wheatgrass book that contained many testimonies, one from someone with Lyme. For my own study I took Barley greens and other dried greens, many times. These products are only good for a maintenance program. There is a big difference between eating right and good and REVERSING THE DISEASE PROCESS. You want to be healed, not just well. Wheatgrass must be freshly grown and juiced to reverse the disease process. Drinking 4oz a day and doing wheatgrass implants is a key to the program. Sprouts: Everyday at two meals. 1. Fenugreek 2. Lentil 3. Alphala 4. Mung Greens: Grow with wheat grass (very easy) 1. Sunflower 2. Buckwheat Fermented Foods: Kill bacteria, aids digestion and healing, loaded with b vitamins 1. Rejuvalac (very easy to make) 2. Sauerkraut (homemade and raw) 3. Essence crackers 4. Seed cheese Reverse Osmosis water. Meals: First meal was watermelon everyday. They do not recommend bananas, grapes or other sweet fruits until your health challenge is resolved. Second and third meals contained all of the above with added vegetables (raw). A one hour very easy exercise program was a must. It was designed to help Lymph drainage. People in wheel chairs could still do it. Additionally you had to take one enema and two wheatgrass implants per day. You also fasted on juice for three days on your first week and one day a week thereafter. The juice fast consisted of the above foods only in juice. There now you have it. But really, staying for even a week in a supportive environment is so helpful. The classes are wonderful. Though they do offer the courses on video (around 120.00) and a book with the whole program and recipes for only 20.00. I still recommend trying to go. Equipment needed: Excaliber dehydrator Juicer, one that will juice wheatgrass such as the or Green Power Vita-mix blender Coffee grinder for grinding seeds Do you pray? Pray it in.... Pray it in! Pray the money in! Bernadette
Guest guest
Are people there suffering from all types of illnesses Judie, I hung out with a girl that suffered from IBS, depression and was on disability for 10 years. She was healed. Another man, from India, his wife died in his arm a few years earlier. This killed him, he was dieting and under full time nursing care. His daughter sent him with his nurse to the institute. He was completely transformed and returns every year. Another elderly man in his late 80's named Sam. He is the Gardner at the institute. His story is that his wife loved to cook, they both weighed over 300lbs, so does his daughter, she still does. His wife was diagnosed with cancer and given a six month life sentence. They went to the institute and never left. His wife lived 25 more years, and he is still alive and well. His daughter gave birth to two children with cancer, she refuses to change her lifestyle. Some people still had there health challenges after three weeks. Yet I don't really believe anyone should expect to be healed in three weeks from chronic and debilitating illnesses. That is why they offer a missionary opportunity. That is why they ask all missionaries to stay three months, and after three months they allow another three months. They say some challenges require a whole year before a maintenance diet should be started. They teach you the program and you spend a lot of time in classes. It took a lot to really pull it off at home. You have to have a lot of family support. I did the program at home for many months, yet I could not pull all the foods together at the same time. So my diet was a little un-balanced. I am going to get more practice at the fermented foods and concentrate on the parts of mind/body healing. Blessings, Bernadette
Guest guest
>hi i want to comment on a few of bernadette's generous description's. also mention that this program is based on Ann Wigmore's program as she developed it over the years. Hippocrates Institute in Florida also uses these techniques and there are other programs around the world. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ > >Wheatgrass must be freshly grown and juiced to reverse the disease process. >Drinking 4oz a day and doing wheatgrass implants is a key to the program. **i rarely was able to drink more than 1 ounce a day of wheatgrass when i used to do it. in addition, i was totally unable to tolerate it without discomfort unless my stomach was empty. YMMV >At the Institute they teach you the importance of timing. Timing your meals is everything. All your meals must be digested before taking wheatgrass. This is very important. **when i had candida, i found these natural yeasted fermented foods seemed to accentuate my candida symptoms. YMMV >These foods can not be purchased even if stated raw. They must me made and fermented fresh and eaten in proper combinations. They teach you this too. **exercise is a must for general health -whatever kind. > I rent a bike and go to the local YMCA. I exercise about five hours a day while at the institute. I mentioned the low demand and lymph drainage program because a lot of people with Lyme are to sick and in pain to exercise. Most other institutes charge a lot more, though there programs are the same. The rooms may be a lot nicer though. , Have you been to one? and which one if you did. Did they teach you the timing between meals and proper food combinations? Bernadette
Guest guest
hello I was just wondering if you could give me contact information on the healing insitute and where it is and how to sign up. I have been reading these e-mails but have no idea how to contact anyone about the place. Any information would be much appreciated. thank you-val
Guest guest
I'm pretty sure I'm allergic to wheatgrass, even the smell makes me nauseous. There are many nutritious green juices... And as someone with very bad candida, all that fruit would be the end of me! :-) For some people, this is a very good way to go. There are many ways to cleanse the body. Please report back to us Bernadette.
Guest guest
yah the smell of wheaatgrass juice and the taste are not my thing. nevertheless i have always benefited from smaller amounts. i am a celiac and have a " true allergy " to gluten. but wheatgrass does not cause a problem. as far as fruit, ann wigmore used to only recommend eating (juicing) the bitter white flesh under the rind of the watermelon -not the sweet pink. >I'm pretty sure I'm allergic to wheatgrass, even the smell makes me >nauseous. Guest guest
Bernadette, I think it is so wonderful that you are willing to take the time to share all of this with us! I know there are many people who would find this to be WAY too rigid, but to reclaim health, nothing seems too far out there to me....not anymore! But, the trick for me would be to convince my very sick 16-year-old son. Wishing you the very best, Judie
Guest guest
The institute I went to juices the green of the watermelon rind to balance the sugar out. They also offer vegetables to those that can not tolerate fruit. Wheatgrass is not appealing to most people. A lot of people do throw it up. I don't mind it, but I have no sense of smell. There are two alternatives to this amazing and powerful healer. One is to do only implants, the other is to use other grasses, such as barley or oats. Guest guest
Thats a good idea. Wish they'd sell barley or oat grass in the healthfood stores. I make a green juice out of: celery, parsley (flat and curly), spinach, romaine, cucumber, dandelion greens. And one whole lemon. Delicious! Have a craving right now but its cold and cloudy out but I should go out and get some and make one.
