Guest guest
Mike, Your point is well taken about not delaying medical investigation with a guessing game. Though my neurologist wanted to do lengthy tests for MS and lupus, as well as Lyme, I went ahead and contacted a Lyme Disease doctor in San Francisco, one whose name was recommended on another board. He has a long waiting list, but seemed willing to try to squeeze me in sooner. Thanks for the thorough description of your rashes. I think my main blotch was no larger than 4 " . It covered the front of my lower shin. I don't remember the sensation, whether it was burning or itching or both, just that it was not bad for what the thing looked like. I also developed a raised area at the bite mark later on. To this day, I have a bump of darkened skin at the site. The dead skin kept forming in layers that sloughed off then reformed. My dermatologist said it was definitely the result of an insect bite. But like most people he believes that if I did not have a bull's eye around it, it could not possibly be a Lyme tick. I also had some red splotches on my left arm. But I really did not pay much attention to it. I thought it must have been a spider bite. _______________________________ > 1) Diseminated: All over body. Back, front, head, all limbs, > 2) Rash at bite site: r.rear thigh, 4 " above knee. Vertical length = 4-6 " ; Width = spread across back of thigh. Sensation = burning to degree of moderate sunburn = at this site only. Actualy bite mark = raised w/ 'volcanic'Pit(vesiculation), around which a ring of dead skin formed. > Sizes = variable, w/ largest rash at bite site; second largest appeared on on lumbar-thoracic spinal area. Shape = Ellipsoidal. This latter rash had an inner, darker ellipsoidal shape. > Color = uniform red; not one bullseye rash. >
