You said you were hoping to get off your pain medications ... which

implies you are still taking pain medications ... because what you had

sounds to me like a major withdrawal from opiate meds ...

Before trying LDN you need to make sure all opiates are out of your

system ... 7 - 14 days out of your system.

to stop taking it and only took it one time.  I was taking it for undiagnosed

immune disorder and pain disorder from a reaction of the Anthrax shot in the

military.  Anyways I took it at 10:00pm and at 12:30 am started breaking out

into very severe cold sweats all over my body which would come in waves.  Then

almost immediately I had severe pain and restlessness all over my body.  It was

hard to breath and keep my temperature and if I lie still I couldn't breath and

had to tense my muscles all over my body.  Ended up in the emergency room and

they couldn't do much for me except try to make me comfortable.  I couldn't even

sleep at all.  The pain and restlessness were so bad in my mind all I wanted to

do was get the medication out of my anyway I could to end my misery. I was like

this from 12:30am till 3:00pm the next day.  I wasn't back to normal till the

next day around noon.  I lost feeling in my whole body while coming down from

the medication.  The doctors concluded that Im too chemically sensative for the

medication and advised me not to take it anymore. This was the worst reaction to

medication I ever had. I was hoping to get off my pain medications all together

but looks like that is my only option.  I was wondering if anyone had severe

side effects. I have been on alot of sites about LDN and haven't heard anyone

with a severe side effect like I did.  Also I would advise anyone going to the

emergency room take documentation with you about LDN since the hospital I went

to had no knowledge of it and kept accusing my that I was an alcholic and no off

label use was for naltrexone.  It was very frustrating plus they took two hours

to see me and say they couldn't do anything for me. They kept asking me If I was

drinking today and they never heard a side effect like that.  I was taking 4.5mg

LDN from the pharmacy in New York that Dr. Billari recommended.

Good point, Jaxi... taking LDN with opiate pain meds is counterindicated

and that information is all over the websites. Can you tell us what pain

meds you were taking at the time to determine if opiates were among them?
