Hey .....my father was stricken with dizziness 2 1/2 weeks ago, just BOOM,

like you

said, out of nowhere. Now he is 72 years old, but is in pretty good health for

his age. He

said it was sooo bad and that it was just like right before you get sick from

drinking too

much. But here's the bad part, he saw his dr and he told him it would take a

couple

weeks, and he still has it 2 2/1 weeks later. Now mind you, it isn't as severe,

but he still

doesn't feel good enough to drive etc. He hates it! Now, I don't tell you this

to discourage

you, but just how it has affected my father. I hope that both of you will heal

from this

inner ear disturbance soon!

God Bless and Get well!

Kelli, I have been experiencing Vertigo on and off for 12 years. The first time I experienced exactly what you did. I thought I had a stroke or something. It is a very scary experience. They really dont know what causes it. It could be inner ear, it can also be caused or brought on by stress. You can take Dramamine over the counter and that usually helps. If not there is a stronger version the Dr. can prescribe. I have had to just wait mine out. Its best to sit up and you wont feel the whirl quite as much. There are also some chiropractors that specialize in it. I did go when I had my last episode over a year ago. So far I am contributing the lenght of time to the Chiropractor. Just ask if they treat it before making an appointment. Best of Luck, you should be feeling better in 2-4 days. Marilyn October 5, 2005 260/220/150Kelli

I woke up this morning, feeling really weird, light headed so I went back to sleep for an hour thinking I was just groggy from a bad nights sleep I was having, then I woke up and rolled over and that is when everything in my room when Whirling around and Spinning...I felt as if I was on a tilt a whirl ride at the fair. I started to cry, freaking out cause I had no idea what was going on, since the last time Ihad this experience I was 10 sheets to the wind from a party where I drank too much...and last nite Ihad no alcohol..so I was really freaking out. I called my sister and she had me explain when it occurred and she told me that it was Vertigo. Now, the only Vertigo I remember is Cary Grant in the Hitchcock film...and I'm no Cary Grant that's for

sure...lol. Needless to say, I am still awkwardly dizzy, light headed and just feel out of sorts. I took some Meclizine 25mg, which was what the internet and my sister told me to take...so I am hoping this will work. Has anyone had this experience before? I mean this just came so quickly, overnight I feel afraid to try to go back to sleep again. Anywho, please pray our storm system lets up an dI can get back to normal. I know we need the rain but I need to work!!! Ihad to call off work today cause I didn't want to get behind the wheel and have a spell and kill someone or myself. Anywho, this throws off me getting weighed today as well. I was going to travel to the University to have them weigh me but that's 20miles and I'm not that adventurous today...so I'll post my weight on Thursday if all goes well :) Take Care! And Just to reinstate, this is not due to the Lapband whatsoever...I have a hearing

loss and damage to my inner ear, and with the pressure I've been told over the phone that I can experience things like this from time to time...so please dont worry!!! :) Kelli (Spinning out of Control...LOL)

Hi Kelli,

I know exactly how you feel! I had the same exact symptoms about a

year ago, then again right after my lapband surgery 2 weeks ago. I

think for me maybe it was the combination of the flight/very plugged

ears and coming down with a cold. Anyway, I had an RX that the

doctor gave me last year for the 25 mg meclizine and it really did

help with the symptoms. It is a scarey feeling, though, I was also

afraid to drive, I felt like passing out just walking around my

house. I tried to get a lot of rest as well and that seemed to help,

it lasted about 4 or 5 days.

Sorry you're feeling so loopy, just wanted you to know I understand!

Hopefully it will go away quickly.

Take Care,
