Guest guest
Bob- If you go on www.low dose naltrexone.org you can see the list of compounding pharmacies. It is very important for you to read everything on this site before you start this drug, if you haven't already. I chose not to get the 50 mg to mix with water because there were too many inconsistencies in the success of taking it in that form. I purchase mine at Irmat Pharmacy because they take my insurance and it is .67 a pill/$20 a month. I call them 5 days before my refill is done and the new refill is mailed out in enough time for me. I have my pills filled with acidophilus. When you get your prescription filled at compounding pharmacies or other small wholesalers you reduce the price because it goes through less hands and they buy it in bulk. Bulk is always cheaper. The more hands the drug passes through to get to CVS, the higher the price. Also, a place like CVS has to pay for all those electric bills, salaries, overhead, advertising, etc... Insurance companies do not have control on how much the drug costs to get to a CVS shelf, but they can contract how much of the price they will pay for the drug. It comes down to pure economics....... I would like to know if this is what is meant by inexpensive.Maybe I live in a different world and have a different concept asto what defines inexpensive. Can someone please answer this and perhapsenlighten me so I know where to purchase what a normal regular personwould consider ''inexpensive''.I'm sorry to put it in these terms but some people think that just because insurance is paying for it that it's inexpensive but in reality it's insurance that has allowed these companies to charge these fantasy prices in the first place. Any help or advice would be welcome.BOB
