two questions - making up double bath LDN and avoid iron particles

Hi MoI share your mild irritation with all the curfuffle. What I do is mix in 25ml water per 50mg pill so for a 4.5mg dose I draw off 2.25ml. It's a small "efficiency". As for the iron oxides, if I were you I'd find a smaller bottle that you don't have to tip. I use a small, clear bottle. As it sits in the fridge most of the time and I only have the fridge open a cumulative maximum of say, 2 minutes a day, I reckon this is as good as a brown bottle with the advantage I can see what I'm doing. I used to draw the clear liquid off from the sediment, but now I just leave it. It looked to me as if a tiny amount of sediment at the bottom I didn't get rid of was possibly more tricky to avoid

than the larger amount. I watch carefully where the tip of the syringe is to be sure it's not touching the sediment. When it's getting close I make up another dilution in another bottle ready so that I don't get caught out by underestimating how much I have left - especially as taking it last thing at night means I'm not as alert. Sometimes I draw it off a bit earlier leaving it to stand till I'm ready.MargaretFrom: Mo <mairinaineosborne@...>low dose naltrexone Sent: Mon, April 19, 2010 10:24:01 AMSubject:

[low dose naltrexone] two questions - making up double bath LDN and avoid iron particles

Hi all

I have been using one 50 mg tab in 50 ml of water to make up my LDN bath.

It does not last v long and I wondered if there was any reason not to double up on this for convenience sake?

Also the deposit at the bottom of the bottle I think I heard consisted on some sort of iron which I need to avoid like the plague as I am taking IP6 to lower ferritin.

I usually have to invert the bottle to fill the syringe. anyone have any ideas on how to avoid the dredges?

Many thanks.

Mo

Mo-- don't know the answer about doubling but as it can spoil it seems

prudent not to double it. It's been suggested that a person can make up the

tablet solution, let the insoluble stuff settle, then pour off the medicine

into a different container, leaving some of the liquid behind with the

grit. This does waste a bit but ensures you don't ingest the iron.

best wishes,

I have been doubling mine for a few months now as my husband and my dog started

on it too, so it goes fast (between the three of us, we use 8 mg/night). I just

use 2 pills per 50mL water, and then each mL is 2 mg instead of 1 mg. Haven't

had any problems so far.
