Guest guest
Hi Jen, glad you found us. I used to be on an AD other than Lex. and Lorazapam. After years of counseling and dealing with issues I was able to drop the Lor. for a while. Went back on for a while when going through a bad time but was able to get off again and have been for years. Now I just take 1omg of the Lex. unless I'm having a very stessfull time then I take 1 1/2 until I get through it then I go back to just one. Have you been through counseling to deal with your issues? If so, has it helped? ak --- Jen <jenniferm32@...> wrote: > Hi y'all > > I just joined today, but I've been dealing with > depression for years, > and taking Lexapro for two. Guest guest
Hi! Thank you for the reply. It's good to hear from people who had positive experiences with multiple meds, and I'm glad that the counseling helped. Counseling's helped me a lot. I've dealt with lots of issues there and I'm still going. I keep typing and erasing this next part because it's something I'm having a hard time coming to terms with. I'm struggling with the fact that my baseline has gotten steadily lower and lower over the years, and that the biological part of my depression, like my chemical balance, has been steadily affected by having a life filled with trauma. I've done a lot of hard work to work through the trauma through talk therapy and it's really helped, but the cumulative effects of all of it has slowly eroded my baseline and affected me biologically. I hate how issues that I really have dealt with and come to terms with emotionally anyway can still leave a lasting footprint on my existence. Sorry, just a little frustrated by that. Hopefully the combo of meds will help. Thanks again. Jen > > > Hi y'all > > > > I just joined today, but I've been dealing with > > depression for years, > > and taking Lexapro for two. Guest guest
Hi Jen, I also have lived with a life of trauma. I've been in Therapy and Recovery for over 20 years and I'm still in need of meds. I have PTSD from chronic pain so I'm on a mood stabilizer as well as something for anxiety in addition to the Lex. Lexapro is the only AD that I have ever been on that actually works on me. I am finally depression free after 50 years of chronic depression. I am stable for the first time in my life. I can't say enough good stuff about Lex. It has saved my life. Sue C Re: Hi, newbie here. Hi! Thank you for the reply. Guest guest
Hi Sue, Yeah, Lexapro seems to be a pretty darn good drug for some people. I'm glad it's been so effective for you. It must be such a relief after so many years of depression. It was less effective for me after I had to do without it for a few weeks and then restarted it, but it still works. If it weren't for Lexapro I'd me much worse off than I am now. PTSD can be so hard. I had it for a while and I don't miss it. I still get anxiety every now and then but it's much better than it used to be. I look forward to finding the right balance of meds that will help me be stable again. I don't care if I have to be on the meds for the rest of my life as long as they keep me stable. Jen > > Hi Jen, I also have lived with a life of trauma.
