Guest guest
Hi All! I'm a newbie here. I just found out about LDN and just joined the group. I read the LDN website, but have questions and deeply appreciate anybody who can help. My son is 11 years old. For unknown reasons, he started having food allergies and intolerances when he was 6 years old. At age 9 his talus bones (in the ankles) were "injured" on swimteam from simply swimming. The bones actually have these dead lesions that won't heal up like they should (osteochondritis dissecans). The injury from swim team triggered an undiagnosed autoimmune disease that acts exactly like Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis without the noticable swelling. The joint pain is almost entirely brought on by eating allergic/intolerant foods. He keeps getting new food allergies and I keep taking away the food culprits and the pain goes away, until the next allergy/intolerance pops up. He has been diagnosed with fructose malabsorption, lactose intolerance, and allergy prick tests have confirmed the many foods allergies, of which I needed no proof. We are down to EXTREMELY FEW FOODS and so now I am adding total panic to my list of horrible feelings I've had over the past years. I've seen between 20-30 doctors and traveled to Canada and Mayo Clinic in Rochester to (try) to get help. I'm sure that I need not say my opinion of doctors at this point, as I'm sure many people on this group have had parallel experiences. I have been doing everything possible to keep my son off drugs, but if he can't eat anything without triggering an autoimmune response, what choices will I have? I hope you don't hate me already for my long intro, but maybe somebody has a similar story? I want to try LDN for my son. I live in Tampa, FL. We are taking a roadtrip out west to California in a few days. Can anybody recommend a doctor (anywhere between Florida and California) who is very knowledgeable about LDN that we can talk to? I didn't see much information about giving LDN to children. My son weighs 105 lbs. Would you give a dose of 2.0 mg? If I can't get in with a doctor soon, and if I can't get our pediatrician to prescribe it, I want to just get it, although it makes me nervous to get it from mail order. Can somebody direct me on how to get it from Canada or Mexico safely without a prescription? Is there not a way to see if one has a deficiency of endorphins before taking LDN? I've read how safe LDN is... is it really that safe? Has anybody given it to a child and had problems? My son is not taking any drugs, just probiotics and vitamins. Has anybody been made worse by taking LDN? I saw there is a Dr. Berkson in New Mexico who seems knowledgeable about LDN. His office staff says he won't see children, but I'm planning on persisting. Maybe seeing yet another doctor is a wast of time and I should just get the LDN and do it myself. I'd do that if it were for me... but I'd like some advice because it is for my 11 yr old who is at pubery age. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU if any of you have time to share with me anything that might help. WARMLY,
