Guest guest
, my reaction to the doxy burn was a true bright red burn, and that lasted longer than a regular burn would. Very very sore, too [ ] Doxy burn I am curious how many out there have gotten the doxy sunburn? How bad was it? Was it just like your typical sunburn but a really severe form? I had a strange one last summer on doxy, not a typical burn at all. My partner's sister who was just recently diagnosed with Lyme also got a similar burn/reaction. You aren't red, maybe a little dark, like a sort of purple, the next day. A few hours after coming in, you start to feel like you are radiating heat. You don't have a temp, but everything feels cold. Cold air on your skin feels like knives. Your blood feels like it is full of ice, but all the while your skin is HOTTER than Blazes. The only thing that feels o.k. is to sit with as much of your skin wrapped in cool but not cold wet cloths. When it's over, you don't look like you got any sun at all. You don't peel, you don't tan. You are just happy it's over. It seems like this is a little different than what someone might think of when they think " sunburn " . So I'm wondering if others have had this happen and if this is the Doxy Burn we are all warned about. -
Guest guest
I have been on doxy a long time and I only had this happen a few times, but I did have it. It isn't a normal sunburn, it is like you described, and once it gets going I have found it takes a long time to get it to stop. Thanks, Doris ----- Original Message ----- From: Sabadini So I'm wondering if others have had this happen and if this is the Doxy Burn we are all warned about. Was it just like your typical sunburn but a really > severe form? I had both: a sunburn on my nose that made me look like a drunk, then cracked and peeled. And I had the burning hands and feet and chills, but without a burn. The latter may have been more of a herx. I had had neuropathy before - - numbness. It seems the doxy makes the neuropathy react in a more intense way. That's my guess. My LLMD feels that herxes intensify the kinds of symptoms you had before. So if you had a headache, you have more of a headache. If you had numbness, you might have knives of heat. I'm now on a new combination, but my doxy tan remains and everyone always thinks I look very healthy! Sagwasmom
