Guest guest
Thank you all for your responses to my question " does anyone get well " . I feel much better knowing that there is a network of knowledgeable Lyme victims out there who care so much about each other. I'm truly grateful for the hard work of those who keep this going, since clearly it's a labor of love. I'm still searching for a way to uinderstand all the political problems with this disease and the $$$$/healthcare realtionship, where doctors are compelled by insurance companies to leave us hurting. I had no idea that getting sick would be so complicated and that doctors would take illogical positions and politicians would back them up. I have heard some talk of a class action suit against Kaiser in California, does anyone know about it, who might be organizing it? It does seem from talking to you all that thanks to my dear Dr. D that I am doing most of the right things. I've gotten much more rigorous with my supplements, since perhaps a lot of my neck pain is due to magnesium deficiency. Leana
Guest guest
In response to your comments about soliciting, why don't you comment on all of the other people on this list who are promoting products that are multi-level marketing. There are quite a few if you really look hard. No one is asking you to try it if you don't want to, but there are many people so badly suffering with Lyme that may want my help. I don't know why you have taken such a dislike to me. I am just someone who knows that I can help others and because I have the tenacity to do so, I am happy to say that there are a number of people who are glad that they gave Sunrider a shot. I have gained a great deal of knowledge because I have been through almost everything that each and every one of you are currently going through and my advice is as good or better than most, with or without the Sunrider. Please note, I am the one who has been in remission and anti-biotic/ medication free along with my whole family since 1995 because of a dear friend who was persistent in sharing her knowledge with me. Maybe if you'd stop being so judgmental and angry, you might see the forest for the trees. Sue Rauch

It's important to be aware of supplements, medications, devices, tests, etc. which may help us, including the stories that describe how and under what circumstances they are used. I'm sure I'm not alone in desiring this kind of information. As far as the question " Does anyone get well? " is concerned, I have resigned myself to being infested with spirochetes and other bacteria, viruses, malaria-sized parasites, and mites. I think I can successfully combat ticks, worms, fleas, and lice. I don't like to think about prions. My strategy regarding my unwelcome guests is to strengthen my immune system so that they are on the defensive in reduced numbers and, perhaps, in less harmful forms. I remind myself of one of the participants in the Tuskeegee study of men, whose syphilis was deliberately untreated, who died a few years ago at the age of 102. Guest guest
Something I want to share..... NATURE’S GARDEN OF HEALTH Basic Nutrition Digestion is the reason that nutrition works. Without proper digestion, the best of food is wasted. Digestion begins in the mouth. * One job of the mouth is to break down food into smaller pieces. * Starch begins the digestive process in the mouth, where enzymes break it down into sugars. * Stress, drinking with meals (especially iced drinks) and improper chewing impede proper digestion. The next step is the Stomach. * Proteins and fats begin their digestion in the stomach. * Starches continue to be digested here if the conditions are proper. * Minerals in foods are being prepared for absorption in the small intestines. It is the hydrochloric acid in the stomach that does this job. On to the Small Intestine. * Pancreatic enzymes make protein and minerals available here. * Most nutrient absorption occurs here, provided that the proper chemical reactions have occurred in previous steps. * Bile from the liver and gallbladder enters here to digest fats. Off to the Large Intestine. * The large intestines are thought of most frequently as the waste collection area. How- ever, the large intestine has the job of holding waste until enough water is reabsorbed to hydrate the body. Constipation is often a sign of dehydration. (Most headaches are a result of dehydration too). Elimination of waste makes room for absorption of nutrients. * The body has four exit doors for waste which include the bowel, kidneys, lungs and skin. (the skin is known as the 3rd kidney) * All route of elimination of waste need proper hydration to function at peak performance. Foods to limit or avoid for BEST health. * Refined foods- white flour, white rice, refined grains of any sort. * Refined sugars- This can include refined sugar (Domino’s), fructose, honey or any other processed sweetener. Check health food stores for NEW product- Steevia-- natural sweetener. * Artificial sweeteners- Aspartame’s (Nutri-Sweet) list of possible consequences include behavioral changes in children, headaches, dizziness, epileptic-like seizures, menstrual problems and increased risk of cancer. * Over cooked foods- Enzymes that help digest foods are destroyed when the food reaches high temperatures. * Carbonated drinks- The hydrogen gas in soda as well as the increase phosphates leach minerals from the body, especially calcium. * Caffeinated beverages- The caffeine is a major stress on the glandular system. It also makes the body acid and promotes disease growth. * Foods not labeled as CERTIFIED organic. Foods that benefit your body. * Raw fruits and vegetables-- ideally lunch and dinner should be 1/2 veggies! * Whole grains * Cold-pressed vegetable oils, especially Extra Virgin, cold-pressed olive oil * Fresh juices-- not to be confused with canned, frozen or reconstituted. * High fiber foods * Meats from certified, chemical-free growers. Proper protein portion is the size of the palm of your hand, 1†thick. Don’t forget the water!!! * It is imperative to drink enough water to hydrate your system and the rule is-- 1/2 of your body weight in ounces. For example: a 100-lb. woman should consume 50 ozs. of water/day. When one consumes coffee, tea, soda, etc., or if one does strenuous exercise, the need could be higher. Distilled or reverse osmosis water is recommended. Tap water is usually very high in all kinds of chemicals, especially chlorine. Mineral water is not recommended either because we are not meant to consume minerals; they develop into stones. It is best to keep meals simple, minus the sauces, gravies, etc. The stomach has a hard time dealing with a large variety of foods at the same time. Best to eat fruit alone and save rich sauces for the holidays and special occasions. I wish you the best of health!!! Guest guest
Judie, Thank you for your kind words. I have such empathy for you as we had discussed the whole scenario with the chickenpox being the catalyst for the onset of the Lyme with our children. I feel that there is always so much that we can learn from each other. I appreciated your postings about the gammaglobulin treatments. (I think you were the one who talked about it). My 10 year old cousin in Texas may have to have those treatments because he has an extremely low white count and his doctors were talking about it. He's been sick for almost two years and they're not quite sure what's wrong with him. They are waiting because the Sunrider, which they are finally seriously trying, seems to be working. Within two weeks of taking the Nuplus, his white count went up 20 points. I spoke with his dad tonight, and he thinks he is more stable and is beginning to be able to have the home instructor again and go outside a for short periods of time. His parents are finally seeing a little bit of light at the end of the tunnel and are pretty amazed. I always thought he had Lyme because he has been sick for as long a I can remember, and no doctor in Texas could give him a diagnosis. Do you know of anyone who has gotten a really low white count (like 150) from Lyme Disease. Anyway, how are your children doing? Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
