Guest guest Posted May 5, 2010 Report Share Posted May 5, 2010 Hi Liz,This past winter I had pneumonia. I know it's no fun and makes you feel HORRIBLE! I started taking LDN while I was still taking AVELOX for the pneumonia because I was anxious to do something to help me with MS. AVELOX is a very strong antibiotic which some people can't tolerate. I weigh 115 lbs. and medicines usually effect me pretty profoundly. I did fine on the AVELOX... I just made SURE I took it in the middle of a big meal. I had taken Arithromycin (z-pack) before the AVELOX but it didn't put a dent in the pneumonia.I hate to take antibiotics but in this case the pneumonia would probably have killed me. I'm thankful it was available. Also, I took probiotics and still do. I think it's fine to take the LDN along with antibiotics... all I can say is that it worked for me. Search the forun the title in italics. The wife's mycoplasma pneumonia has really really attacked her in a bad way. Guest guest Posted May 7, 2010 Report Share Posted May 7, 2010 Mycoplasma is a " stealth pathogen " which used to be considered rather benign, but after it was weaponized by the DOD & CDC, and tested on the US & Canada populations some 30 to 50 years ago, it has become recognized as being very dangerous. It has been identified by Drs. Garth & Nicolson as a likely cause of Gulf War Syndrome, possibly as a contaminant in vaccines given to troops. It gets into every part of the body & can mess up the central nervous system & the immune system. It can be as devastating as Lyme. Not everyone who gets it is damaged by it, & I'm sure many mild cases go unrecognized. But, to be sure, I think it is a good idea to treat it aggressively and for a rather long time. I was hospitalized for two weeks in 1975 with mycoplasmal pneumonia, was off work & on antibiotics for six weeks. After that, though I seemed to be cured, I began to develop one auto-immune disorder after another, and ended up with progressive fibromyalgia. I have been taking Monolaurin for about two years now, because I don't want to be on antibiotics, but would, if I had an acute infection, objectionable as that may be. I'm not trying to scare you, only to suggest you do not take this lightly. Do an internet search on " Mycoplasma stealth pathogen " & have a very serious discussion with your doc, maybe even see an infectious disease specialist. The Nicolsons wrote a " novelized " account of their research & experiences, " Project Day Lily; An American Biological Warfare Tragedy " which can be bought from them online. When I bought it, they were printing it up on order, one book at a time. Do NOT stop LDN. It can only protect your immune system, and might help prevent long-term damage.
